If the opposition do not allow room behind he is impotent because his ability to control a football is extremely poor.

If, onthe other hand their full back are carp or they push up and allow space in behind then Walnut can use his speed to kick and rush in behind.

He has a moderate finishing ability. He will not improve now and will never be a great player but he is a useful impact player.

The Ox is much more the future for Arsenal.

I think Theo will become good. Look at Kalou, he was a headless chicken before, but this season he's improved alot.

Yeh fair Article. He's never going to be special but he damn sure can be effective and that's why we need him to sign a new deal.

Such an old-fashioned view on Theo, one that was true a couple of years ago, but he is showing real signs of quality this season. He's no Messi on the ball but his control is still pretty good and he has done it against some quality LB's, far from the kick and rush player you accuse him of. Also his finishing is probably one of the best in our squad, it can be Henry-esque at times.

Good ?Theo has NOTHING that suggest he will come good. NO technique and awareness. All of our CB's possess more skill in their weaker foot than walcott does with his stronger. I like the lad but stop droning on his age, he just doesnt have what it takes to be the "next henry", or even a poor mans Aguero.

not every player needs to have Henry or Aguero's talent to have a decent career.

He can be effective but is rarely successful when the opponents decide to sit back.

My favorite moment of the season was Theo coming out in the 2nd half bs Spurs and ramming out the bs he took Dwn his critics throat.

He is effective when teams attack us and there is space behind the defenders. What he doesn't have is the close control and skill to go past players which is why he struggles when teams don't give him space.

I'm not sure where Podolski plays, but TBH if we kept VP and Gervhino had an end product, with the OX and Pods, I really don't think Theo would have much of a sniff but would be a good impact sub to offer something alternative when needed.

That game against Spurs was so good, great to see his determination.

Wenger must be proud he has mental strength.

Also I do think he is learning to adapt his game for those kind of tactics. Most teams are rubbish when they have 11 men in front of them and are denied space by the lesser team (Chelsea vs Bayern/Barca)

He also seems to turn up in the big games has anyone else noticed that?

yeah he does turn up when it matters a lot.

Big teams attack more which is why he is better in those games.

==================================

His control of a football has not improved since he joined, his shooting has improved from woeful to quite good - The Forever if you have watched little Theo play then you have done so through rose-tinted spectacles.

Walcott is not a first team player material. He's an impact player.
