Djokovic Devilder, never heard of the guy until this RG, should be fun.

Novak in the USO final has 3 SPs on his serve, fails to convert them all, is further breaks up in set 2 and 3 and fails to win a single set.

Fails in set 1 2 and 5 of that USO11 semi but suddenly gets a lucky shot and it was all down to Djoko remembering he prcticed this shot a lot!

Actually, I saw a TV show with Novak and his first coach and she really did say that to him, being proud and trying to take some credit for it, as she was the one who taught him to play angles from an early age. You can see how useful it is to him now.
I'm actually surprised he hasn't played them so much this season esp on clay, since it was the angles esp on his backhand that were causing havoc to Nadal.

Of course he should be proud of that shot but nonetheless let's not make it as if he can do it every other return. More like 1 in 10 or in 20 if you ask me (on first serve that is).

One was enough as far as I'm concerned
Would be awesome if he did the same to win RG

Personally, I don't see what the big deal is about it, he plays that shot often as a part of his rallying weaponry, even Federer sad the other day Nole is the best returner in the game.

I agree. This is why I am surprised you mention it at every opportunity!

Well, that was one joyful match to watch...Stress-free Nole, yet chasing the clock to finish the match before the sun sets...what a combo!
Looked fantastic in his new UNIQLO gear, played to match the outfit. Plenty of beautiful chots from every inch of the court finished by an amazing wallop of a forehand to finish the match....
that must be the shot of the year so far

Well...this Nole fan is happy, happy happy tonight, to The Best
(got only one bottle of champers, keeping it for next Sunday, so it will have to be some red tonight )

Enjoy your vaca NITB. Hoping it will be a stress-free final for you

Your man made it. If he lifts the trophy on Sunday none of this will matter but for now one has to say he is looking shaky.

Not convinced that one bad performance affects later rounds that much. He's got the game. Having said that, you need to be really on top against Rafa.

NITB: will it not be doubly sweet for you if Nole wins here after what he has gone through so far? You must be loving it - titanium and all that.

We are close to high noon, so to speak. I said earlier that I would likely - for the first time ever - root for Rafa but I am not so sure anymore. Since I do not think it is something I have control over, I will just have to wait and find out myself once the match gets going. If Nole gets to a breakpoint, how will I feel? I just do not know yet.

I'm back

GO NOLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
