It wouldn't surprise me if Billy Kee didn't kick a ball in an Albion shirt again, after all we accepted an offer for him last season and the only reason he didn't go was due to Billy turning the deal down !
Belford for Phillips ? I'd snatch their hand off ! Phillips is not up to standard and Belford is a good keeper,Southend rediscovered their solidarity last season when he joined on loan.(i actually remember his dad was a great keeper).
Not sure i take much notice of these rumours, i've heard we are talking to Joss Ladabie also released along with Phil Weir from Tranmere !

Just read John Shaw ex brewers player 28yrs old available from Gateshead after rejecting new contract .He scored 35 goals in 50 games last season !! Oxford and Luton are interested surely hes worth a punt ??

Kee is bound to attract attention once he's fit and it would be no surprise if someone made a cheeky bid in anticipation.

But I remember Kerrouche from the Swindon game last year. Couldn't win a thing against Rhino and TJ!! Spent most of the afternoon moaning and niggling before being booked and subbed. No thanks.

Belford's name keeps cropping up. We were pretty woeful against Southend, but he got a regular start in a play off side so must be OK and agree would be well worth a swap with Jimmy.

Just read that Crewe have released centre-back and skipper David Artell after winning the play-off final. Only 31. Years of experience at this level. Get in quick, Gaz.

Clarke Carlilse also a free agent. Bit older (nearly 33) and probably more expensive but awesome at the Pirelli in March.

No doubt Garry has his own list and it will be an interesting few weeks watching for clues as to who we might see in the line up in August.

Would think Rowett will know Carlisle from Derby connection and i agree, i thought he was immense against us in March. I think you will find Northampton have offered him terms but not signed as yet.
Dave Artell is a player who i make no secret of my respect for as a player, would be an excellent signing.
Belford i also rate highly but as for Kerrouche thanks but no thanks.

I see Arron Webster has agreed a further contract which i am happy about ,but i would like to see him in a more advanced role behind the two strikers where im sure he would chip in with numerous goals as he has proved when playing in more forward positions .

Thanks for that info Marco, these sort of signings make getting my season ticket early more rewarding than the money ive saved.A few more like this and things look on the up.

I was delighted with that signing having read the information in the Burton Mail and Derby Telegraph. It couldn't have been better it seemed. A masterstroke getting him in.

Then I made the mistake of reading Wiki (which can be suspect as we know).

'A failed medical at the end of the 2011 season saw a move to Hearts fall though'.

'Doubts about his long term fitness'.

'A season of frequent injury in 2011-2012 at Oldham'.

The papers are wrong or Wiki is wrong. We either have a great signing.... or a Richard Jackson / Darren Moore / Boerts / Chris Riggott defender who may not appear that often in the shirt.

Otep, I did the exactly same as you with Wiki and drew exactly the same conclusions!

However, if you look at Soccerbase, he started 29 with 2 sub appearances all by Mid March so won't have missed many. (29 must be more than your ex-Rams list managed in a season if you add them all up, so rest a little easier. The early finish to his season stacks up if the '30 game = new contract' clause is genuine.

Hopefully a gamble worth taking, but either way an encouraging sign that there is a contact network in place, with a bit of ambition to bring in good quality.

Well he left Oldham due to a "contract issue", so the 30 game thing certainly sounds plausible... perhaps he joined on a 1-year deal on the basis he'd get a longer contract on more money if he proved his fitness, and Oldham have screwed him over?!

Captained Aberdeen at 21 or 22 I think - seen him a few times for them and would certainly have liked Derby to bring him in when he was still a 'youngster'... looked like he had a bit of 'oomph' about him!

2 good signings, on paper, so far anyway

If Diamond had made one more league appearance contractually Oldham would have had to make him an offer for this season, financially they were not able to do that so there loss is our gain !
Great piece of business by the assembled back room boys and Rowett as is the signing of Weir.
Also listening to Billy Kee he's got no intention of going anywhere !
