Does anyone know if the same happened last year when Hamilton was having a bad spell?
---------------------------------------------------------------------
He didn't need it.

He started on pole in Korea (as well as out-qualified Button on numerous occasions) and won in Abu Dhabi.

It wasn't the car's fault that Hamilton was having a bad run, it was because he was colliding with Massa at nearly every race. A dodgy car set-up doesn't do that.

Why is it that people are so quick to put down Button when he has a bad run of form, but when the same happens to Hamilton, the blame immediately gets put on Whitmarsh?

So why did he take it then TallandUseless? Pretty sure he can set his car up himself.

He gets Hamilton's set up and suddenly he's back at the top.

I would be ashamed personally

Tall is correct in saying that Lewis's problems 2011 were not due to his car but to what was going on inside his head. Finding himself behind Massa on the race track added to his frustration.

However, Button lost practice time in Montreal due to the imcompetence of the mechanics who took too long to fix a gear box. The williams team re-built their entire car in less time than McLaren took.

Having all the engineers scratching their heads and pouring over Hamilton's Montreal data trying to find a Eureka moment simply adds to my lack of confidence in their ability.

Thanks WTBCU
Tall, I wasn't criticising Jenson, just asking a question.

Button hasn't only been poor in Canada, he's been poor since his last podium struggling to get to grips with the upgrades to the car.

People need to stop making excuses for him.

Rebuilding a car which includes a complete gearbox would take less time than a complicated gearbox. Did you see BBC and Gary Anderson's bit at Mclaren?
Could you do better?

Looks like JB has made his excuses for tomorrow.

I know you weren't, but it feels like there are others on here who are doing their best to turn this website into a Button hate campaign. It was more of a dig at them.

Are you forking serious!?!?

Button has been out of form for 3 races.

Last year, Hamilton was out of form for half a season and all I heard was "Whitmarsh this and Whitmarsh that" and "Lewis is being sabotaged" and "the racist media just sweep it under the rug".

Is that not making excuses?

In my humble opinion the less said about Button the better!

=================

Was I making excuses for Hamilton. I put the foot in as well when he had a brain fade. Everyone was sticking the boot in, even his team mate.

Some of the problems he had last season were team errors like JB but the rest of his issues were self inflicted and everyone stuck the knife in. No one was falling over themselves making excuses for a driver not bein able to set up a car and continue to deprive his team of points.

I like JB as well but I'm sick and tired of the excuses being made for him.

He is costing his team valuable points and he needs to step up

JB had one fluke year at McLaren. Last year's result has similarities to a promoted team in premier league having a flying 1st season, then realising they've over achieved way too much and are infact sh-ite

Explain how any driver can fluke being the only man on the grid that could consistently keep up with Vettel, who stood head and shoulders above the rest of the field.
