Doesn't bother me at all changing them. Like wise the Rugby team should really change their's - will that ever happen?
I don't think changing the flag or anthem would make a blind bit of difference in terms of participation for Northern Ireland for thos who don't wish to represent us. I would support a change of anthem because, although GSTQ is the official anthem of this country, it is shared with England and it would be good to see us have an anthem that identifies us as a separate entity. AS for the flags, we do have our own flag separate from the Union Jack and I'm happy enough for us to use that.
For me it would put to bed the excuses some come up with for not supporting or playing for us. Wouldn't allow them to hide behind anything.
Why should the Rugby change the anthem GAWA? Irelands call is the neutral anthem and is played much more than the soldiers song, which is only played in dublin, along with Irelands call.
NI would need to do something quick. They could also do with getting a better stadium.

Godfather the Ireland Rugby team is representative of the entire Island whilst the Soldier Song isn't..................

Soldiers song represents the 26 counties/nationalists in the north, Irelands call represents the unionists as well as the rest of the island. The unionist player seem to have no problem with it and most of them sing it. And the Ulster flag does represent you, as its the flag of Ulster? and you come from the Ulster province. There would hardly be a Leinster flag there for you
Anyway if you wanted you could always bring the england flag with red hand in middle like some ulster fans do, its no problem.
For people like GAWA, nothing would be good enough unless its GSTQ and england flags. Pathetic really.

Im not admitting anything, you and GAWA said the SS dont represent you or your community. And thats fair enough but I honestly dont see why the SS is offensive to unionists. Nothing in the song can be offensive. And dont even say its associated with the PIRA cause it aint. And if you say its associated with the old RA, the English Queen bowed her head in respect for them, and if she can do that then why would you make a big deal of it?
