I like the rhetoric, but if the actions don't match the rhetoric there will be some turbulence.
So far so good for FSG , but statements like that have a habit of biting you on the rear end if the action fails to tally with the words.
I do like Davies a lot. He ran rings around Spurs last season and is very composed on the ball. Fairly young too. I was happy when I saw this.
But as I said initially, I do hope this is for a squad spot, not a starting one.

United bought Valencia from Wigan, Cahill was playing in the lower leagues before Everton signed him. So I'm not going to laugh just yet. He could be a good buy. Time will tell. How old is he?
It shows how far our expectations have been lowered since FSG took over that some people seriously consider Mark Davies to be a potentially good signing.
If he does sign it be because Rodgers thinks he can work in his system. If thats the case then he might be a better signing than people expect. 24 isn't a bad age. Still time to improve and adapt.

Seeing as we will see a whole new playing philosophy introduced, the more players that fit into the style the better. You have to remember there are question marks over J.Cole + Aqua, + BR might want to get rid of spearing + Adam (both probably not good enough for his style of play) so if that happens we will be left with just Gerrard, Lucas, Henderson, Shelvey in midfield (making us light there). I would be happy to see Joe Allen + Mark Davies arrive. Gerrard + Shelvey to play the attacking midfield role, and Lucas + Joe Allen the ball retainers and Henderson + Davies the more box to box creative style... Just my opinion
