Just when you thought the Blue Union couldn’t get any more desperate, they’re now getting involved in POLITICS?

EAAFS (Evertonians Against A Free School) are protesting against a free school that is being set up by Everton In The Community. The school will be for underprivileged and disadvantaged children of the City. After reading through their Facebook page, I noticed that our old friend Mr Dave Kelly – had predictably, had to have his say! Dave said….

“Everton Football Club in my humble opinion should concentrate on it’s core business interests. The clue is in our name Everton ‘Football’ Club.”

Clearly Mr Kelly is getting himself all muddled up! The free school is NOT being set up by Everton Football Club… it is being set up by Everton In The Community! An independent charity, and a totally different entity from the club. Therefore the free school initiative will have absolutely no impact on the business aspects of Everton Football Club.

Now either Mr Kelly doesn’t have a clue what he’s talking about, or there’s a more sinister side to his comment. Is he purposely posting misleading information in an attempt to cause further unrest amongst the fanbase in order to muster up more support for his beloved Blue Union? I’ll leave you to make your own mind up, but considering the track record of that group, I don’t think it will take you long to come to your own conclusion. The Blue Union are now promoting the EAAFS group on the BU facebook and Twitter pages!

Moving on to the EAAFS. Why are they waging their protest in the name of Evertonians, when this has absolutely NOTHING whatsoever to do with Everton Football Club, or for that matter, NOTHING to do with football!! I understand that the teaching unions are unhappy about free schools – which is fair enough.. I respect that, but surely this group should be called ‘Teachers against EITC’s Free School’ (or something along those lines). Interestingly, the group has been set up by a supply teacher! Now unless you’re an Evertionian AND a teacher, then I’d hazard a guess that 99.9% of our fanbase have little or no interest in the politics of the free school. It’s a political issue that has absolutely no connection with football, yet they’re pushing themselves on the Blue Union Facebook page!

What’s next? ‘Evertonians Against Police Cuts’?? Or maybe ‘Evertonians Against Tuition Fees’?? Or what about ‘Evertonians Against The Poor Running Of The NHS’??

Given the facts, I ask you the question again… Why are the Blue Union getting involved in this debacle? My personal opinion is they’re looking for another excuse to stir the brown stuff, and another stick to beat Kenwright with.

I know I'm on PAYE so can't escape it, rather than taking cash for hotdogs.

Where did I go wrong

Who knows.Poor education?Deprived childhood? You are in a better position than me to provide the answer.
Not to worry.

I'll get over it & sleep soundly, safe in the knowledge that I'm paying my dues, rather than snaking out of it, with dubious accountancy.

Do you have one of those big old whisky bottles that you keep your pension in?

posted on 4/7/12

The amount of "dues" will vary quite dramatically, dependent on what ones income is.

Then again that is not always the case

posted on 4/7/12

Well worked out.

posted on 4/7/12

I do hope your not suggesting to the contrary.
The hot dog takings around Goodison are subject to very vigourous accounting.

posted on 4/7/12

I seen one of them take a p1ss & then warm his hands in the onions once.

Right captain of industry that lad.

I`m on PAYE.
Me too,you can take comfort in the knowledge that yours and mine contributions are helping the less fortunate in society.
Gives one a certain feelgood factor wouldn`t you say?

posted on 4/7/12

At least he didn`t warm his hands and take a pis$ in the onions.
I have heard it said the hot dog sellers in town (do you remember you used to come out of the pub, club, and they would be there taking all kinds of stick) would pis$ in the onions to get there own back
