I still haven't seen the match he lost, just the last 2 games.
But I must say he looked slow (not kidding) but I thought it was fatigue or nerves.
However regardless....the knees were never going to be the real excuse for the exhibition. It's the ego that still hurting! So much so that he has to give an excuse to his defeat soon after his defeat...he coudl not withold it like others do.
yes, second round loss must be sinking now. It is a big setback for 7 times roland garros champion. He would have mentally broken down if he had lost that final as well.
I still think he preferred his 7th RG than this loss.
Anyway, I'm really glad this was cancelled, never liked the idea from the start...
Next time he should invite Rosol. Guarantee sell-out.
Tenez, From what I gathered, Rosol was prepared for nadal to pull a gamesmanship tactic or two even before their match. He & his team already worked out a plan before hand. I dunno all the details. But one of rosol’s counter-tactic was to move very fast all thru the games. To his credit, he was able to execute his points exactly as planned, serving aces and ending points one after another lightning-quick and consistently. Rafa could hardly breath. Like you said, although being the same age as rosol, he was just too slow to adapt to the speedy pace rosol dictated. Esp. at the final set when rosol raised his game and speed even more, rafa was totally disabled. Rosol shocked the hell out of him.

HI CS great to have you here. Easy...you need to update your profile and state the pseudo you want to appear to...I believe.
Do you think was prepared to Nadal's tricks? I am not sure one can be prepared to it....on CC against such a big crowd for the first time.
There are things you simply cannot be prepared such as playing the next round after such a big win against a less famous opponent on a side court.
I just think Rosol realised that Nadal coudl not handle his pace and that gave him huge confidence. Besides his tall size made Nadal's bouncy shot land right on his hitting zone. Plus he probably enjoyed the atmosphere and peoiple cheering for him.
Yes Nadal used some tactics but they were simply details compared to the huge emotion he was getting from the crowd, the CC, and teh occasion.
I typically do not believe you can prepare yourself to experience things only experience can teach you and nothing else.
But I have not watched the match so I might be wrong, that's just how I 'd see myself in such situation. It's what happened on the spot that fed Rosol with energy and enthusiasm to see it through.
I gathered my comments from stuff I read but didn't save. Now I can't find the source on where I heard about his pre-match plan vs Nadal.
You're probably right bc rosol said he never expected the upset.
I still find it intriguing that rosol said "I knew he would try something (to disturb my concentration." http://www.tennis.com/articles/templates/news.aspx?articleid=18480&zoneid=25
Are u common sense from v2?
Another she, nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! She is a very fine poster
what do you mean by "nooooooo", feeling threatened, are you
Some of the female nadal fans have been real annoying. Nole's fan are fine
CS - I am sure you are right in the sense that he may have been told about it and his team tried to get him prepared for it....but how much that allowed him to stay cool though when he is bullied by Nadal? I am not sure.
I think Nadal's bullying did not bother him cause with a single FH he could get the crowd cheering and shut Nadal up.
Mighty Federer,
Are you a boy or a girl?
Do you post at V2? I post there so irregularly that I'm surprised you noticed me.
I bet you thought CS is a boy? Hahahaha
I have seen your postings at V2 and u seem to be a fedfan if I am not wrong.

CS TMF is/was wow at v2! I don;t think there is any secret about it.
tenez, I am not too sure if I should revert back to my original pseudo as I planned to have this until fed's continued appearance at Wimby.
i dont think that CS knew me as I got banned really long time ago before you guys got banned . You know me because I was amongst the few early posters who migrated to v2 with you.
TMF,
stay tmf, please...and then change to nirtb (noleisreallythebest) when Fed retires
Hopefully for the Rafateers this injury is as serious as the one he had last spring. He came back like a beast
