He is good at getting forward arivving in the box, i remember a goal he scored in a cup game against spurs
Spot on! and he is a true Gunner he deserves a chance.
He wouldn't leave us LIKE CERTAIN PEOPLE!!!!
Whilst I think you have written a solid article and will give you 4 's accordingly. You need to look at the tender age we push players into the first team who are going to or have since made it and in my opinion; realise and accept that he will be 22 in 3 months and will be sold or leave on a free when his contract expires.
To be honest I can't see him play upfront for us this season regarding the signing of Giroud, Poldi and maybe someone else.
I've always liked him when I've seen him, but you have to think there's something behind the scenes or in training that Wenger doesn't like about him. Not like he's averse to giving young players a shot in the first team is it?
You can't buy class
There are always some 'late developers'. Giroud and Koscielny are great examples. They were still in the French second division when they were around 24, and about a year/2 years later, they play for a top 4 club in the premier league and are full internationals.
Lansbury needs a chance, and by that I don't mean a few substitute appearances at the start of the season when the whole club is in disarray. He needs to be treated fairly, let him train with the first team until January AT LEAST.
gunnerthru, why would he play upfront? He's a midfielder.
And he takes up a place which could be reserved for a new signing, which we only have 2 left if RVP is sold. I doubt he will stay
I disagree that he has been sent on loan because of pre-season injuries.
He has, in fact, participated in the last 3 fully. He has even got a few appearances at the beginning of the last couple of seasons in league and cup.
The fact that two years ago Aaron was out from the start of the season and last year Jack and Abou were injured, plus the departures of Cesc and Samir, but still Henri was shipped out on loan to the Championship is telling.
Wenger doesn't seem to rate the guy. Franny C and Frimpong both were given more game time last season, despite being a couple of years younger, and Frimmers loan to a PL club shows a certain degree of extra belief in him.
This pre-season is last chance for him, imo, and he has a lot of work to do to force his way in.
And he takes up a place which could be reserved for a new signing, which we only have 2 left if RVP is sold. I doubt he will stay

Why only 2? By my calculations we have 6 or 7 spaces.

I'm sure some quick research will tell you he missed the majority of pre-season last season AND the season before
http://www.arsenal.com/fixtures/fixtures-reports?season=2011-2012&x=10&y=17
In fact I was wrong, he didn't miss the 'majority' of pre-season, he missed all of it.
V-05 , why have you given me a link to the first team fixtures? He was playing for the reserves (Stevenage, Boreham Wood, Dover) last season after not convincing Wenger he was ready for first team.
Connor Henderson is another who was ahead of him a year ago, and despite a year out injured, remains ahead of Lansbury in Wengers eyes.

I gave you a link because you claim he participated fully in pre-season but you are wrong, he was injured. If you doubt it, check the pre-season fixtures on that link and he's not involved in any of the games.
Wenger then played him in the reserves before loaning him out in a bid to get him back to full fitness. In fact I also heard West Ham wanted him to prove his fitness so they watched him in some reserve games.
He was in the reserves because he wasn't considered good enough for the first team. Henderson, Coquelin, Frimpong and Afobe took up the places for the kids in midfield, Henri was not considered good enough.
Why loan a player out to regain fitness all season?
Twist it anyway you want, but the fact is Wenger does not rate Lansbury.
The reason he went to WHU on loan, in the Championship, is because Wenger did not feel he was good enough to get games in PL.
Sorry but just to make sure there is no misunderstanding, what do you mean by 'he was in the reserves'.
Aren't we talking about his involvement in pre-season?
Yes, he was in the reserves in pre-season playing against Stevenage, Boreham Wood and Dover, before getting a 20 minutes or so run out at Benfica for the first team.
"why would he play upfront? He's a midfielder."
I can't see him play there either.
ps, V-05, Lansbury was also playing for England prior to his reserve run outs last summer. No injuries.
Because he wasn't fully fit! Why on earth would Wenger bring him on for the FINAL pre-season game, arguably the most important pre-season game, the last game before the season starts, if he didn't 'rate him'???
Also, he was involved in the u21 championships with england until late June, he picked up his injury then and this is why he had to be eased in with the reserves.
Adding 3 's into your comment doesn't make your argument stronger.
No, he was fit. He was in the last pre-season game because of injuries to Henderson, Coquelin and Afobe in the earlier games and Wilshere being out. Hence why he was on the bench for a few games at the beginning of the season.
The whole point of pre-season is to gain fitness, and also for youth players a chance to be intergrated into the first team squad. The fact that Henri was pushed into the reserves while Henderson, Frimpong, Coquelin and Afobe were in the first team is telling.
Also you haven't touched on why he spent ALL season on loan in the Championship.
Anyway, the past is the past.
The future, however, looks just as bleak for Henri at Arsenal.
Conor Henderson is fit again, and very much in Wengers plans, and rumour is Kyle Ebecilio is set to earn a place in the squad for the Asia tour, as Wenger rates him highly just as Bould and Banfield do.
If lansbury didn't suffer injuries earlier in his career he could be a top player for us right now, good player but not a future arsenal player.
