KP warming up very nicely today for the series ahead !
Yeah I don't think we English should get to far ahead of ourselves. They have 2 or 3 immense batsmen and 3 outstanding, balanced seamers. Lets not forget Morkel...
Agreed on the Bell-Drummond point, class act.
Andy Strauss, 50 in the first innings and now unbeaten on 127.
South Africa
200 up for KP off 170
25x4 7x6
Been an amazing innings to listen to from KP today, total domination of an attack.
Holy smoke, just seen KP's 200 score
Simon Kerrigan doing his best to dismiss KP's apparant problems with left arm spin !
No wonder you posted that score of 150 for KP earlier, Sprinkler I thought you were making a prediction
KP is playing on a ground that's rectangular in shape with two very short boundaries.
Is KP playing on the same ground where that overrated, thankfully he never played for England, Graham Naiper hit those record breaking sixes in a first class innings?
Naiper hit those runs against Sussex i think.
Sorry it was Surrey but on a different ground.
Bravado aside. No-one should right off RSA and you would be very stupid to write off England in England. they are a very tough bunch. When one fails the next steps up, and so on and so on. As for SA bowlers, they took a bit of a hammering....against SOMERSET
We were going to get slaughtered down under. Andersen can't bowl there. England can't take 20 wickets there. England can't bat there.
We were going to get hammered by India at home. They were the best team in the world at that time ( although that still makes me laugh).
We have heard it all before.
If nobody realises how good we are at home by now then they have been living on another planet.
England will whitewash South Africa and will then be the number one team for the next five years. This excellent run of ours started 3 years ago

Who said either of these statements? Especially the last one. I think there was large agreement that India were going to be hammered, certainly outside of Indian fans.
Should be an amazing series and contest, but I can't help feel it will be a disappointment. 3 Test Matches? With the weather we've been having? Also SA have had the bare minimum time to practice in horrid conditions.
The series winner could well be defined by who gets the better of the weather.
