Looks like Yorkshire will win though .
Rudolph will make a big difference when he comes back(fingers crossed)

Agreed. Waist is terrible. Injury prone and hugely out of nick despite a big score for the seconds.

Future looks good with Lyth, Root, Ballance, Rashid, Rafiq and Bairstow.

Gale, Pyrah, Bresnan, Shahzad and Sidebottom speak for themselves.

I would be tempted to bin Patterson, Wainwright, Sayers and McGrath and invest in a new signing and keep Rudolph!

he looks bad totally out of form shouldered arms yesterday, he should be the man helping this young batting line up in difficult times instead he was out not playing a shot. I'd drop him when Rudolf comes back.

Joe Root however held the innings together played well in a tense chase in cold, overcast conditions on a pitch with a little grass, a little uneven bounce and against an international spinner - well played

Know it all:

You know f-ck all.

Someone once said that form was temporary and that class was permanent.

Half a dozen or more games is rock all to judge a test player on coming back from injury

IF i know f-all thats twice as much as you know..
I'm not the best of fans of players that are hugely overweight and still contribute nothing..AT least make the most of your ability and show some application by getting fit.. Even if your not that good. At least try and keep in shape..

really and its not because hes fond of the odd pie? 2 years ago he wanted to join Lancashire for more money.. Yorkshire paid him more so he stayed since then hes averaged about 25. hes done nothing to warrant his contract..

Like I said, you know f-ck all

Town,
Whats the inside knowledge you know? Sounds like you know Mags.

I thought his car crash was a few years back.

Who is the highest wage earner at the county?

posted on 15/7/11

Car crash was at the beginning of last year. He got bad whip lash. That's why he didn't play much.

Highest wage earner is Jaques Rudolph. It's not rocket science!

posted on 15/7/11

Steady. It was merely a question.

I heard he was on hugely reduced wages, hence the question.

I actually thought it would be Sidebottom or McGrath.

posted on 15/7/11

Lets face the facts, Mags is currently a joke & brings nothing to the table.

He is past it, we have plenty of young talent coming through the ranks, the sooner we get rid of him, the better!

Town Cryer,
What has whiplash got to do with a persons physique?

Even If he did have a car accident, what on earth has that got to do with his overall weight problem?

What would a Leeds fan know about Crickt?

How long till I say to you: "told you so" about both Mags and Leeds?

posted on 15/7/11

Keep football out of it & answer the question, i'm a full Yorkshire Member & i've seen every game so far in all formats.

Mags has been a joke so far & your car crash excuse for him not being fit is frankly ridiculous.

Ok Sth Leeds apologies winging.

Cricket, more than any other sport is all about confidence. Mags is low he needs encouragement, not people like you that constantly knock him down.

He'll cone good believe me. Mags will be rmthe first to admit if he's lost the plot.

===============+++

Cos he can't train properly you numpty.

Ok, so who would you have instead if McGrath?

posted on 15/7/11

Town, are you McGrath?
At 35, overweight, injury prone, out of nick and a high earner... Are you not slightly doubting him?

He has been a great servant granted, but putting the club over loyalty to an ageing player comes first.

Let me put this another way... A new batsman or McGrath...

injured, overweight, great servant or high earner - none of these things matter at the moment.

Mcgrath is currently hopelessly out of form, he bats at 3 which with an inexperienced opening pair and young middle order makes him a key player and he's made no runs. Also Yorkshire are strugggling which makes his experience even more important and lack of runs even more noticable.

Having said that with Rudolf coming back it might take the pressure off and he may score bucket loads - I suspect if Rudolf plays well it will spread through our batting line - up.

posted on 16/7/11

Agreed. You can see the influence of an overseas at other counties. We do need Rudolph. If he opens, it might help Lyth.

If you dump every player as soon as they hit a lean spell there'd be no-one playing cricket

posted on 16/7/11

Sorry for singuling one player.I'm not a big Yorkshire fan, but i like them to do well. I just look at people's record and thier attitude..
Am not 100% certain but you can almost also gurantee that Mcgrath as in his contract he as to be picked for so many games..
Last year Yorkshire were going for the championship and Mcgraths scoring rate was an inderance to..

Town Cryer,
Rather than being a 'yes' man to your mates just because they happen to be a cricketer, try & watch some LIVE cricket & then you will see for yourself that McGrath SIMPLY ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH!

Agreed South.
