He won't sign a new contract though. He will stay simply because the move he wants isn't there for him.
He will re-assess in January, when he will be allowed to talk to whoever he wants and sign for whoever he wants.
The good news for us is that Giroud and Podolski will get time to settle in. The bad news is we will have a player with his mind elsewhere, and from January to the Summer, potentially a player who has already signed for someone else.
ps, van der Wiel. No thanks.
The Telegraph and Mail say he's coming to United for £20M
Oh if the Telegraph and the Mail say it it must be true...
As if Man Utd will pay £20million for him.
Keep your fingers crossed then
RVP's saga will run and run until the last day of the window interesting that his wife has been tweeting could be a sign he's staying I hope not we should get rid of him asap
Only paper talk for my taste. I would like him to stay but only if he signs a new contract otherwise he has to go soon.

As soon as he scored the first couple of goals in the new season, nobody will boo him anymore. All those guys who wrote that he only had one good season will not want to remember the rubbish they wrote...So lets see. I am also rather sceptical, because if he really meant what he said about the ambition of the club, it would not have changed because of a couple of maybe decent signings....
Tom the Gooner, on the other hand a couple of goal-less matches and poor results will see the anger intensify.
Yeah that is right D'Jeezus.
You can imagine the headlines. " Wantaway captain saves the day" or something along those lines.
oh just to mention, I personally would not boo him and there is also nothing to forgive him, so I will simply just cheer up him, since he (still) wears the colours of AFC.
With Giroud and Podolski unlikely to be fit in time for the start of the season according to Arsene, if nothing is sorted regards van Persie's future before then, it's highly likely he'll start up front against Sunderland.
And if that happens, he'll be our most likely source for gaining a winning start to the season.
Boo him then? You've got to be kidding.
And another thing... what exactly is the difference between RvP and Walcott?
Van Persie voiced his concerns about the direction of the club, using that as his reason for opting to not extend his contract.
Is it really about money though? Possibly.
And what of Walcott then? Still yet to sign an extension, stating progress on that front will happen when it happens... "The club and my agent are talking but it is a slow process and my last contract took six months to agree - but it will come." Slow progress of your contract negotiations matching your own slow progress developing as a player then Theo?
No mention of Arsenal's ambition or direction though. It's almost CERTAINLY about money then. Cazorla signing on a reported £70k pw must've come as a body-blow to Walcott's agent.
Where are the 'sign up, or eff off' articles about Walcott then?
The Telegraph and Mail say he's coming to United for £20M

£20m, that's a joke, he's worth at least £10m

Yes, he is worth at the very least £10m. So how does that make £20m a joke?
I agree, Earl.
At least £10m. At most... say, £35m.
Because he's worth at least £10m

There had been a few, he really can't ask for £100K per week now though!
Agree pp1212.
Thank you Cazorla for (hopefully) opening young Master Walcott's eyes.
Because he's worth at least £10m

So why does that make £20 million a joke?
£20m is more than £10m. £10m is the least he is worth, so how does that make £20m a joke?
How much do you think we'd get for Walcott were we to sell him this summer?

Who is going to buy him? Chelsea don't want him if they get Moses, Liverpool?? It would be a step back for him.
People talk about Wenger not being ambitious enough and sometimes I agree because we give players like Walcott too much time and too many chances to improve! And look how they repay him!
£15mil max for walcott.....and that's only because he's english
