I heard from some fans that England will insert India at Lords- that would be suicide.

Not if as expected it's overcast and you will have an inexperienced opener.
If it's grey then I would field.

Well even if Englan do insert India.. That means India will have to take 20 England wickets in what 3 and half days? India will have to get at least 350 in the first innings and that will take 4 and half sessions.. And England will not be bowled out for less then 450 in a combined both innings.. That would also take more time out of the game.. What ever India do when they win the toss they had better do it well in my opinion..
Sorry if they win the toss...
Well thought out article Rex - I gree with some guys on here about conditions - but I have to say - I would feel a lot better batting first for the best part
Folks I do understand that conditions have a major role in cricket, especially in England but I'm sure you must have realized that my statement was made in a general sense.
Of course SA inserted India at Centurion on pitch growing branches, fresh after rain, blew them away in the first innings on the first day and steamrollered them with easy batting the next day when the sun was out.
Of course, the same plan backfired when India fought back at Durban and won.
So conditions play a massive part too, but in general, since Lords is a flat pitch, it would be best to bat. (Even if it is not a flat pitch, unless the pitch or conditions are highly bowler friendly, it is wise to bat first).

knowit:
To score 350 India will take no more than 4 sessions.
That is they will need about 110 overs to score that much which is less than 4 sessions.
For England to score 450 at a similar rate it would take 150 to 160 overs. That would leave plenty of time to force a win for India.
The rest of the comment is confusing. You must rephrase.
"What ever India do if they win the toss they had better do it well in my opinion.. "
>>>>>>>> What is this statement supposed to mean?
I completely right with my statements.I said what ever India with the toss they had better do it right. They had the conditions well in their favour on the opening day at lords and they failed to do what was needed and that happend as well at Nottingham..
Rex has disappeared

I'm expecting a massive article on what went wrong.
me too
I would be extremly disappointed if England get any credit at all - if India had played even 25% of their ability they would of crushed England into the dirt
"I'm expecting a massive article on what went wrong."
---------------------------
i can probably summarise it in advance
england were lucky , india's injuries cost them the series
i remember a thread on the old 606 where rex wasn't particularly pleasant towards me when i suggested that india would rely on the fitness of zaheer and that without him their bowling looked weak , whereas england's bench strength was much stronger
ah well , even if he has gone into hiding being able to say "i told you so" is gratifying

The Rugby World Cup is upon us soon I hear.
Yes mate - exciting times - the squad was announced yesterday and the last warm up game is in Dublin this weekend
As always - I have unwavering optimism
The England Rugby team seem to be like the German Football team as in good in tournaments?
If they can use the scrum to their advantage and keep the wingers out wide then I reckon they will do well.
Did that last paragraph make me look like an expert?
you know Ginger - that is the perfect way of describing Englands world cup record - since it started we have gone
QF - Runers up - SF - QF - Winners - Runners up - that is with good and bad teams
I take all of your sporting knowledge as expertise Ginger - you know that
