I noticed it, and if he had knocked it left then Gibbs had a tap in

Gibbs the needs to learn how to cross than moaning at others..oh position wise he was shiteee..he needs to work on it..and let Guriod be.

I noticed it, you can't blame Gibbs though, he was in a position to tap it but Giroud chose to do it his way and he missed!

don't you think gibbs was a bit wide? could have been angle (i only saw game on tv)

Meh. May as well have shot. Gibbs might have scored but he's not exactly a prolific finisher.

I saw it, but actually thought he was in a better position to shoot than Gibbs.

If Giroud had passed to Gibbs, that would have been a goal easily. Gibbs was on the right place to just tap it in, regardless he's "prolific finisher" or not, anybody would have scored there.

Not really the best way to help the confidence of a team mate.

He had a proper rare up at him!

Yea he had a real go at him, it was unacceptable IMO. Don't mind team mates shouting at each other but Giroud is new to the squad and his confidence is questionable so to so aggressively have a go at him was ridiculous.

shot was definitely on for giroud - shame he missed 'cos it was great run and pass - just thought gibbs was out of order

All players want to score so from Girouds perspective he is a striker and had a chancve dso went for it, from Gibbs perspectice he was in a better position.

It was one of those if it goes in its the right decision, if it doesnt, it isnt. Easy to say with hindsight and I can understand both of them wanting the opportunity to shoot.

If you looked closely, after shouting at Giroud he did console him though

Shot was on and he is a striker, do hit it. As I recall it, there was a defender slightly ahead of the line he'd have had to pass across so no guarantee that the ball would have got there/shot wouldn't have been blocked.

what did he say - you're shiite you useless c2nt... never mind let me give you a hug!

I feel sorry for Giroud, so far he's had 2 great chances but they're all snap shots and he still hasn't had a chance to shoot when the ball was at his feet.

He should've pass it to guarantee a goal but if I was in his position I wouldv'e tried to score myself

i quite like the fact that santi, podolski and giroud are prepared to take shot rather than always look for the pass - anyway like it said on another thread giroud is destined to score vs s'hampton anyway

Gibbs has no right to have a go, he wasn't in a better position and he had 3 opportunities in the game to set up Giroud to score a header, had time and space to cross, and all where awful and overshot.

Only Chamakh, as a striker, would pass in that position. I'm glad Giroud took a shot.

I think 99 out of 100 times a striker/forward will take that shot, NOT pass it.
