The reason Emerson was so good is because he is more defensive than attacking. However, having said that he also attacked loads today and linked well with Kulu. Tbf Emerson has been good for the past 3-4 games actually

Me personally, I’m not that bothered if he stays or goes.

I will defo give Conte the credit that the way he sets us up and likes to play suits playing City👍🏻

But he sets us up and asks us to play the same way every week. Today we looked forward much quicker than usual - the ball was getting passed forward after a touch rather than two touches and a sideways ball first. Hopefully this continues!

This game was always going to suit a counter attacking team. That’s why we’ve had so much success against City with Conte and Jose. We really can’t say that this should suddenly silence the doubters as the real test is when we collapse against sides like Villa at home because the spaces aren’t in behind like they were today. That’s where our lack of creativity is exposed.

In short Luka, this changes nothing. I’ll judge him on a long string of performances, not an isolated win against City. Remember it was their mistake that gave us the goal and we had the crossbar to thank for that clean sheet.

Could tell in the match thread Fridge you were waiting to explode if we conceded.

Lets hope Conte is back soon.

To be fair to Pepe, Spurs pretty well owned City home and away in the Prem era before they won the lottery. Then they had a few wins, Now normal service is resumed again.

If not for the ridiculous goalie and defensive feck ups at the Erihad, Spurs would and should have doubled them again.

LOL Spurs don`t collapse against teams like Villa at home every time they play similar teams. Villa is an odd home defeat to a lesser side, Spurs usually only lose at home to the better sides.

Fridge really cannot bring himself to praise Spurs for an excellent win.
