#thfc sources close to the Lewis family, who run Tavistock, the company behind ENIC, say the club is still not for sale. The family are also believed to have received no bid from Earick's consortium or expression of interest at this point.

@AlasdairGold

Then why are a few consortium's registering or rumoured to be interested?

If we do sign Palhinha permanently then we shouldn’t give bents a new contract.

I think Bentancur leaving would be exactly what's needed to kick start Archie Grays career as a midfielder with us

posted 4 days, 16 hours ago

I would've bet a large sum that Palhinha was left footed. Confused the heck out of me that he played right centre back the other day.

Just as well I'm not a betting man, eh

Weird logic. Ideally Gray should improve enough to dislidge Bents but Bentancur is continually under rated by people who watch him every week. Spurs fans lol.

No one is under rating bents and if you actually read the post it says we should only have one of him or Palhinha next season.

We clearly need a different profile of CM but we don’t have the space to sign one.

Yeah, tell me you're not a serious bidder without telling me you're not a serious bidder.

No one with an ounce of credibility operates like this, posting teases on Instagram, when negotiating a multibillion pound deal. It's all nonsense and quite frankly, I'm quite pleased. I want new owners but jeez, not these ones.

Nothing controversial but saying specifically someone needs to leave for another person's career to kickstart is doesn't seem very logical to me. Particularly when Bentancur is 28 and has 2 or 3 years left at least at a very good level.

it's entirely logical when you consider that Gray is regularly being shoehorned into his 2nd and 3rd positions rather than his first one (midfield)

Without Bissouma and Bentacur ahead of him, he'd play more frequently in his primary position, thus gaining more experience and getting more regular minutes under his belt

The quicker he can drop the 'utility man' tag that has followed him since he's joined us, the better it'll be for his career in my opinion

posted 4 days, 13 hours ago

Selling or releasing an experienced pro for a teenager is not logical. If Gray was outstanding and better than Bents I would agree. But he isn't.

Was he shoehorned on Tuesday night? They started together so why sell one so the other can flourish?

Make it make sense...

posted 4 days, 13 hours ago

By the way your argument might be valid in a year or two's time, IF Bentancur is still around.

But right now. It makes no sense. I think Gray has a great future and was the only on this board championing him when we signed him. Facts.

That logic makes sense if your priority is to develop Archie Gray. It isn't. Our priority is to win games and trophies for Tottenham Hotspur. If that means Bentancur is ahead of him, so be it. We don't owe players development. At this stage, binning Bents in order to promote Gray is weakening us and gambling that he eventually comes good. He's 18. He's got plenty of time to develop.

I'm not as obsessed with making sure these players get games. I only care that we're competitive with a deep squad. If they can't get in, they go on loan and grow that way. If he's good enough, he'll rise to the top that way. It sounds to me like you're advocating weakening the squad in order to give him game time, which is absurd.

I haven't advocated for selling or releasing anyone. That was Hengy

I piggybacked off the comment and said if that would be the case, it'd kick-start Archies career as a midfielder with us

Tuesday night was the first time he wasn't shoehorned, so my point still stands

anyways, there's not really anything to debate.

I like Bentancur, rate him fairly in in line with his ability and game influence levels

but if he left, it opens the door for Archie

Based of last season, maybe but as of this week no shoehorning, so nothing stands. Besides, Gray being trusted to play differents positions shows how talented he is. He is a future leader.

You're massively reaching here

Im using a smaple pool of the whole of last season. Youre using the last 90min. Just being silly now

posted 4 days, 10 hours ago

My point is, Gray can still flourish without Bentancur leaving. If anything, Bentancur being around will only help Gray.
