Not sure why you're so down on the team tbh
------------------------------------------------------------------

Because they as a unit were crap and can do a hell of a lot better. I will never be happy when a team does not play as well as it can particularly when it plays as badly as that.

I said poch was a good manager not a great one

I've seen some really chit spurs teams in my time and I'm very happy with the squad and manager we've got.

Spurs did OK, considering the personnel that were not starting, arguably our four best players, Walker, Toby, Dembele and Kane.

My only beef was the shocking substitution by Poch in taking of Janssen, it basically signalled that Spurs were happy with a point.

There will be average teams going thru for sure for instance Leicester look like they will quailfy for a start
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Spurs cannot play Leicester come what may in the next round, and they are hardly average, they are the Prem League Champions.

Against city we looked fantastic and we never had Kane, Rose or Dembele that game either.

What we did have was a fantastic attitude and the will to win. We never had that tonight and thats my complaint. Had we have given it our best and lost 1-0 well thats football but that 2nd half display was an insult to the 2500 fans that travelled to the game, full stop.

No I know we cannot play Leicester you said there would be no average teams in the knockout round I pointed out one as in Leicester and they wont be the only average side to go thru either

Not a great day at the office, but I would have taken a draw away in the CL against team that came 3rd in bundesliga last season. We are resilient and it's great

posted on 18/10/16

We've all seen some really poor spurs sides in our time

A draw away to a German side in the champions league ain't the end of the world IMO

You're spot on that we can play better but no team Plays well every game.

We've only really played well against stoke and man city but are in October and still unbeaten in the league and in a fairly decent position in the champions league.

It ain't a bad state to be in

You mean that top level league that Bayern Munich have normally wrapped up by Christmas day? Sorry not for me we could have and should have won tonight on that showing B.L. would be lucky to finish in the top half of the EPL

I think rose did play against city

Outplayed today by BL, should be pleased with a draw.

They were ready for us and fought fire with fire, did well to hang on.

Leicester managed it last season which is why they finished Champions and only lost 3 league games all season.

They won it by giving everything every game we should try that

Yes you are right Rose did play against City

Better things to do with your time like moan about a hard fought away draw in Europe. Yea, time is precious. Since when is drawing away in the CL "dropping points". Guy thinks we're Madrid and should never be outplayed.

grand, Leicester didn't have CL football last year. They do now, and as you can see they're having a bit of trouble giving everything every game.

Maybe grand is going to buy us Ronaldo and Messi and then we might win every game in Europe

Third in the league and 1 point off the top, and 2nd in our CL group, and with our top striker injured. We can't complain too much right now.

Win our next handful of games and this performance and draw will be forgotten.

First half we were in total control and again we just miss so many chances.
2nd half they out pressed us and made a brilliant tactical substitution, our passing was diabolical especially in midfield.

I thought Lloris, Trippier, Rose, Vertonghen, Wanyama (For 60 mins) and Janssen played well but the rest were awful.

Lamela and Eriksen should thrive in big games like this but they were shocking tonight.

I still think we will qualify by the skin of our teeth and we will have Kane and Dembele back for when we play the big boys.

--------------

This is something they've been guilty of since they first came to Spurs, Eriksen perhaps more so than Lamela.

Lamela has improved a little bit each season he's been with us but I'm not seeing a further improvement this season. He's a good not great player, and I question whether he will ever become great.

Eriksen has plateaued as well. Isn't as productive as he was a couple of seasons ago.

You can all make your excuses and come out with ridiculous comments like maybe we will buy Ronaldo and Messi to win every game but I suggest you think like SAF would have.

The guy was a winner and would have slaughtered a utd team that played like we did. Its a mentality thing and winners would never be happy with a performance like that.

Settle for it by all means, point out where we are in the league and brag about it. Make excuses about it by all means but dont expect me to settle for it and be happy with it cos I wont. The game was there to be won and we failed to exploit that just like we did a number of times last season and like we did against WBA.

Thats not good enough for me and it should not be good enough for anybody that has true ambition, or do you want to be woolwich fans and settle for top 4 every season?

Ok we probably wont win the league but let that be because somebody is better than us not because we let ourselves down like we did last season. The same applies to the CL and any other competition we are in.

Well, the game against WBA was a harbinger of things to come??
How can we beat Man City and not beat WBA?
And not win tonight?
Thoughts?

Stop moaning Ted, at least I didn't predict a 10-0 win.

We had a really bad half of football, that we should have been punished for. All teams have a bad half now and again, when several players do not play well and the coach cannot stem the flow with intelligent changes.

Tje performance can be criticised, but a draw in Germany is not really a point to be critical about in itself.
