Agreed with that, Arsenal are more irritating though, with the silly big boasts and ending up trophyless year after year.
However, Manchester United really are the only club I have hated my entire footballing life.

Being a Liverpool fan, its hardly surprising. Its like a Spurs fan saying they hate Arsenal, or a Millwall fan saying they hate West Ham.
Its in the genes.

Similar to Arsenal fans who seem to despise Liverpool on here.

My aul fella claims this fixture didn’t really start becoming poisonous until the late 70’s.
He says there was a bit of city-rivalry, but not all that intense....the really big game was Everton.
Even claims that some Liverpool fans wanted United to win the EC in 1968 (because no English club had yet won it), and that he didn’t recall hearing a ‘Munich’ chant until around 1979/1980.
I didn’t really believe him, but then I saw Ian St John saying much the same thing on LFCTv.
I don't tend to hate teams really. Utd I like to see lose, but that's purely down to Fergie. I've despised him ever since he spoke about knocking us off our f'ing perch... and worse, went and did it! (with a little help from Souness)
I hated Chelsea under Mourinho, but since he left I don't mind them as much, though only when Terry, Lamps and Cole leave will that hatred fully leave. I hated Arsenal under Graham, but not at all since.
Spurs I have a major soft spot for... there really are no other teams I have any dislike for.
I used to like/soft spot for arsenal if I'm honest a lot of my family grew up next to highbury, but ja606 has changed that
Cant stand chelsea, united i have respect for as much as it pains me,but they earnt the right to be where they are, chelsea would be nobodys if the kgb man pulled the plug.
I don't hate any club.
In fact I don't even think about my feelings for other clubs because all I care about is Liverpool.
Surely the word 'hate' has no place in football? It is the most negative of emotions and nothing good can come from it
It's called passion cyclops and harms nobody.
I am sure it is as strong as hate but they are easily my most disliked team, Liverpool. Never particularly liked City or Leeds either, I am not a fan of the sugar daddy clubs in general, but none of them overtake Liverpool. It should be said though that I do generally have more respect for a team like Liverpool than the sugar daddy clubs.
I am not sure it is as strong as hate
That is what it should say...

For some reason I really dislike West Ham, always have and I dont really know why.
I have never really hated any team, but I dislike utd and always will. I really disliked Chelsea under Mourinho, some of the players irritated me, but I found the manager and his attitude distasteful and the fans attitude to their lottery win a little odd.
Chelsea since they have ditched Maureen I find less offensive, but utd with their endless songs about Liverpool, are the team I will always dislike. I find it baffling that any game I see the highlights of, or catch on the tv, there they are, singing when they are winning, normally about Liverpool.
I admire what Wenger has done at Arsenal, but the fans on here are the butt-plugs of ja606.
As a Villa Fan I don't really 'hate' any teams in The Premiership. It's mainly players. I'd say the closest to disliking a team as a whole will always be Man Utd. As a whole I can't stand the Club and there belief they should win everything, there manager doesn't help.
Players I really dislike are fat head Rooney and Rio Twitter. Players I hate are Cashley Cole and Sir Lord John Terry. Truely awful people.
I have always hated Man United, drilled into me by my family who are all Londoners (Chelsea, Arsenal and Palace fans amongst). (A false hate obviously, not proper hatred that causes violence)
This was before Man Utd were winning everything as well, I am talking 80's when I started following football.
As I have got older I have started to hate them less, I still enjoy seeing them lose, but I have built a respect for them as a club and players like Giggs and Scholes.
I never used to hate Arsenal particularly but I have really started to in the last decade with Wenger's myopia the main reason, which has influenced their fans to act like twonks too.
Spurs I quite like, always have because they play attractive football and always have. I like clubs with an identity like that.
My Dad is Chelsea but never tried to make me support them. He has fallen out of love with them really in the last 15 years, the money and everything has ruined football to a degree for the older generation. He still follows them but you can tell he is not really bothered.
I have always liked to see Chelsea lose, but prefer them to Arsenal now.
The only other club I really hate are MK Dons. I don't agree with the way they were formed and took a league place without merit. They are a very plastic club having been to their ground a few times, their away crowd are virtually non-existent, even in play-off semi-finals they only take 1000 fans to places 40 miles away.
Very good article
i go through spells of hating clubs, lately it has been Newcastle and Spurs for thinking they are the greatest clubs ever - the are certainly in the running for the greatest ever also rans
Utd i have always hated but at the same time respect what they are about
I hate Everton when they beat us or go above us for an hour in the league but deep down always want them to do well but not as well as us
Sheff Utd, Qpr - because Neil Warnock was in charge i hated them but they aren't so bad now
The reason Arsenal fans hate Liverpool is we are an easy target. They can't really take the mick out of Utd & Chelsea or City as they are far superior teams and win trophies. Arsenal fans are like the ugly playground bully. Gets picked on so turns to the smallest kid and picks on them.
I hate Utd. I live in Manchester and have to listen to my mates blinkered arrogance. They very rarely big up another player or team. I had an arguement the other day with a mate who said Gerrard has never been a good player. Absolute muppet and he was deadly serious

Really?
As a Spurs fan, as you may know, i have had some heated debates with Liverpool fans, but they've never been out of hatred or dislike for Liverpool.
Strange.
I was born in the 60's and grew up hating Man Utd. I still do and it won't change. It does not mean that I can't have banter with their fans as I enjoy that as much as they do as its friendly banter.
However I have the utmost respect for what they and Fergie have achieved and that can never be taken away from them. As with all clubs though including ours they have idiot fans and I have no time for them.
I was also brought up with a soft spot for Everton( always wanting them to finish 2nd to us or win it if we were out etc) that changed in the recent years with their fans showing such hatred towards us. BUT and it's meant to be a big BUT, after their tribute to Hillsborough the other night that slate has been wiped clean and reminded me tearey eyed how it used to be between our clubs. Healthy banter but no hatred. I hope it stays that way and they can once again finish 2nd to us !!!
I would also like to say that I find United fans the most reasonable on here.
Far better than the London FC lot.
