ok any chances kp could be selected for india series now??????

if dats the case England shud take the call nd do it. let me put it this way, if england fails badly in india flower cud resign. after all the hardwork in the past 3 years will go in water.

wen a new coach comes it will get even worse. ask india how much they missed kirsten, nd wat benefits SA hv got from having him. i can forsee flower resigning if Eng play miserably in india.

if gayle wasnt in WI team, no one would even think that they would be favouraties for this tournament. In t20s, one player is more than enough to win you a match.

Galloping - you need him in India.

Neon,

Sure do. Not many England player's in the past 20 years or so have had the ability to dominate good quality spinners like KP on his day. Couple that with the fact he has been our form batsman for the past 12 months and it's a big blow indeed.

Without having a dig this has to be the most vulnerable Indian side we've faced in India since the mid 80s but without Pietersen I can't see us gaining much from the series results wise, sadly.

Just hope for England's sake Morgan gets no-where near the playing XI.

The strange thing is that I hsve seen our batsmen play spin. As soon as they go to the sub continent they just fall apart.

I honestly feel that it is in their minds. There is a fear about the condition, pitch, atmosphere...

England have a very good team, with some outstanding batsman.

However, they have no one who is truly considered legendary status to me because not obe of them has mastered the sub continent so far in any format.

Neon - You only want KP in India so one of your left arm spinners gets a load of wickets.

Yorkie,

One problem is and it's quite a big one all things considered, is that whilst England have some top drawer batsman only one of them has been in top form since last Summer and he'll be watching like the rest of us.

Strauss thankfully has gone but Cook, Trott and Bell have been patchy at best for a while now which is worrying. Especially ahead of a tough tour and their last visit to the Sub-Continent.

English batsmen as recently as Strauss have scored well in India but I expect a couple of 3 day pitches somewhere.

"Incidently, why are we playing 4 seamers and one spinner on the sub continent? Is this yet again our inept ability to adapt to their conditions."

I don't think this is the problem, good seamers can still take wickets in the SC. Teams like Aus and SA have been successful in the SC with only one spinner, and sometimes not even a very good one.

Duncan. Fair point, but not pkaying a 21 year old left arm slow who has been one if not the star player in T20 in the last 2 years in bizarre.

Yet, they select Bresnan who is decent at best and hardly made an effect when playing for Yorkshire.

Just seems odd selection.

They noticed Buttler and stuck him in and thats great. I can't argue much with the batting line up, though KP would be in.
