I can barely remember being 16, but lacing up a pair of boots and getting kitted up for Liverpool was beyond imaginable.

Was it? What happened after you got kitted up?

Where can we watch tonight's game? Is it televised live anywhere?

For me the youngsters should be left for Europa and we should be playing a strong team tonight. I'm not saying not include Suso, Sterling, Wisdom as they have been long ready from reserves and youth but i'd still like to see Suarez, Reina, Allen play.
I know Gerrard should not play as he struggles with 2 games in a week but we need a strong team out
Sama is also in the squad guys
kash is right in my view. BR should, and no doubt will be, using all at his disposal, not just to try and win tonight's game, but also to afford himself the opportunity of assessing, in battle, how each of the player can and will perform, now and in the future. JimmyTheRed
I'd like us to have a good go in all the cups to be fair. We won't get fourth but we could well pick up a couple of trophies which would be good.
I'd put the Europa above the Capital One Cup myself and we've not won it in ages.
This would be my team
-------------------- Reina--------------------
Wisdom --- Coates --- Carra---- Robinson
--------------------- Sahin-----------------------
-------Henderson --------------Suso-----------
Downing -------------------------------- Assiadi
---------------------- Morgan ---------------------

Anyone got the squad? Suprised Ngoo doesnt get a mention.
RAP, Man City and Everton are out. Spurs and Arsenal never win trophies. United will lose to Newcastle and we will beat Chelsea at the bridge. The C.O.C cup is ours

To think, Gerrard getting both hands on the C.O.C was laughed at last season.
However, I do think that this competition is the ideal platform for our youngsters.

Arsenal fans will try there best after they have another trophyless season
I think the big boys will be rested, we have a game on saturday too, imagine if we lost a couple of Johnson/Gerrard/Allen/Suarez we would be thread bare.
Another cup win would be good, but at this early stage I think squad caution is the way forward, we can put out a good enough team to compete.
The League Cup I am not fussed about this season.
Hopefully we can have a good run with the kids but I wouldn't be too gutted if we go out early.

I'd be really disappointed, not only did I really enjoy our win last year but it removes a way of getting the younger players 'big' (relative to reserve) game experience.
It's a balance, we want enough experienced players to give us a good shout of winning the game but still enable younger players suitable game time.
As such I think the OP is about right; Carra, Enrique, Sahin and Downing are certain starters. I have a feeling Allen will play as well with Suarez on the bench as an impact if all is going wrong.
Agreed, we can put out a team that includes, Carra, Enrique, Henderson, Downing, Coates, Sahin, Assaidi and splatter it with some youngster, would be still strong.
jerome sinclair never played much for the u16s..he was put in the u18s soon after signing from WBA academy..
TBH he never impressed me all that me in the matches i've seen him play (although i havent watched him play in about 8/9 months now)
the ££ lpool paid WBA for him, he was always gonna be progressed through quickly, as they have to justify it..
FSG got rodgers as he agreed to progress youngsters through the acdemy to the 1st team...
FSG will sell alot of these players...thats their business plan....its a licence to print ££...once academy players play for LFC first team their transfer value goes up through the roof
LFC fans will see this in the next 5 yrs or so

You win the prize for most stupid post of the week. Where is all this cash we have made from players like Eccleston, Silva, Rafferty, Regan, San Jose ect? If they don't make it they bomb career wise and sell on value. If they make it they play for the first team simple as.
what i meant is AFTER young players have been blooded into the first team and played there regularly for a season or two..then their value will be decent..
most of the academy players (unlike jerome ) have not been bought from other academies and cost the club nothing...its all profit..
those players you mentioned obviously never achieved that
Only time time will tell on the players that are good enough to play for the first team. I have heard that Jerome has been very good over the last 12 months and that he is likely to be a future first teamer.
I'm not a fan of FSG. But the plan is to develop young players with a view to making them regular first teamers.
If they start doing what your suggesting then some of our more blinkered fans might start asking questions
