Are we trying to convert him? I think he has good pace and is positionally sound, good passer too, interesting.

I would guess Cole is playing because he needs games.

I know he probably doesn't feature in our plans but we need to keep him fit at least so we can sell him at some point.

This is the first time I have noticed Wilson playing Cobnob.

I'm biased, I accept, fellow Jock and all that, but Wilson, for me, deserves a chance. He was on the bench for the games against YB and WBA but didn't get on. Had a fantastic reputation in Jockland; hasn't been given the opportunity in Red so far. jimmyTheRed

Wilson played 8 games in his first season JTR and didn't really impress to be fair (though they were under Hodgson).

Whenever I have seen him I have never been that impressed to be honest. He is 21 at xmas. Make or break for him this season and I reckon we might let him go next summer.

He was always played at LB though, he is a CB, some like Agger can adapt, some can't, see Skrtel V Bale last season. We either need to play him at CB or work on him as a LB, which is why I was so interested to see how much he had been playing there.

I think he is a good player very tidy on the ball.

I just think he is too far down the pecking order.

Wisdom and Robinson are already ahead of him and they are younger. Kelly is ahead of him and is not much older. Sama is probably ahead of him too.

Either at centre half or left back I just see too much competition for him to come through.

Rodgers is giving plenty of chances and the fact that Wilson hasn't had one yet says a lot.

Yeah I found that weird almost as weird as when Gareth Barry and Scot Sinclair played v our u21s as part of Manchester city's elite development squad!

When you think how many players have been taken from the U-21for the first team then it's not surprising that there are gaps to be filled. Would have been nice to see Texiera, Nacho and O'Hanlon though.

Every club has to play their fringe players occasionally to keep them fit as the U21's has replaced the reserves.

No real surprise.

Its hardly the under 21's though is it if ya playing 30 somethings,so it would of just been better to carry on calling it the reserves!!
