Rodgers really hates Kenny's buys
Agreed, he's like a sulking child!
I get the impression he feels simply signing for liverpool meant he had finally made it and didn't need to work anymore.
Kenny didn't help by never dropping him neither!
Yes I was disappointed as well when I read that this morning.
If he feels this way then he should have asked to speak to Buck about it, not go whinging in public.
I like the way he says it would have been better done in private, so why are you speaking to the press about it?
Awful player and weak mentality, 20 million down the drain.
"Taking the ball when losing and creating things. That's what i try to do."
Who's he trying to kid? He barely creates anything when we're winning.
He says tackling and bustling isn't his game, well take a look at Sterling for a second Downing. Sterling chases back, wins the ball the actually tries to take his man on.
I'm particularly unimpressed with this bit.....
"... If you want tackling and running around bustling, that's not my game..."
Maybe he's in the wrong game then...
To be fair to Stewie he did well against Udinese, and has produced more in goals and assists than the likes of Suso and Sterling this season.
I am not trying to say that Stewie deserves to be in the team, but he atleast deserves a place on the bench tonight, especially when the likes of Cole and Assaidi are before him even though they have shown less so far this season.
Downing has just signed his death warrant with LFC. I see he has been dropped from the squad today.
My only concern really is that Brendan was the first to make some of his feelings known via the media, breaking one of the supposed cardinal rules of management by not keeping it in house, and, giving the impression at least, that he backs and supports the player.
I'm excitedand content with how things are going atm...
But Villa wanted to join us beofre his leg break and Kun AGUERO WENT FOR AROUND 37M
But we've got Downing, Carroll, Borini and Adam instead.
Imagine....
Suarez--Villa--Aguero
He didn't say anything I didn't agree with. It's not his fault that Comolli was willing to shell out £20m for him.
On the rare occasions he's been called on this season he's done reasonably well (his cross in mid-week, with his weaker foot, was top drawer) yet he finds himself dropped for the next game - that's bound to cause frustration.
If the fans gave him a break and got behind him maybe his confidence would grow and his form improve. Just a thought.
^^^ are you Stewart Downing ? He's awful and needs to be moved on.
"... Just a thought."
Not a very good one though.
No problem. You morons can keep slagging him off. I'll keep looking at the positives.
This is just like Football Manager. The outcome will be that Downing disappears onto the football bench and may be seen once in a while or leaving in Jan.
