I'm going to own up and admit I've been guilty of this. Walker genuinely looked decent last season but his defending is, at times, diabolical.
Johnson has improved his defensive game a lot over the past 2 years, he is prone to the odd mistake, but at the last tourney for England he was one of the best England players, bailing out the CB's on numerous occasions.
The only criticism i seem to recall the pundits banging on about GJ was his closing down of crosses, people getting crosses in from his side too easily.
Kyle Walker? comon, he has more pace then GJ, Martin Kelly and Carl Jenkinson, but he is behind them all imo for the England RB.
He will find it hard very hard to shift GJ who played at LB vs Spurs last season and taught him a few lessons.
In the Euros Johnson was our second best player behind Gerrard. He was our best player against Poland, and he has improved drastically as a defensive player. He looks just as assured on the left side as the right.
It gets on my nerves when people still use the armchair mindset when judging Glenn.
Can't really think of a time when Glen has let the side down, he plays his game and plays it well. He has a flaw or two but most players do. Top player for our club and the country.
I think Glen does struggle when good wide men stand him up and then run at him, but in terms of covering his centre-backs he's actually brilliant, and has bailed Liverpool and England out on a fair few occasions.
It's lazy to label him poor at all aspects of defending. He's a very good full-back, always making intelligent runs and his passing is underrated.
Let's not forget that his attacking abilities. One of the best attacking fullbacks in the league.

Have to disagree, what did Ribery or Evra do vs him last tourney?
Maybe they did nothing, it's just a weakness I think Glen has; he can look a bit leaden-footed when a player slows him down and then accelerates by him.
Not saying that it happens every time or that he spends games being roasted - Glen's been one of our most consistent players whenever we've been playing in an attacking fashion.
Glen Johnson before the euros was derided by many, most of which was because whom he plays for. However the players that ultimately disappointed play for the media darlings of English football.
The disappointments were Young, Phil ''Donkey'' Jones and the vastly over-rated Wayne Rooney.
Hard to disagree with any of this to be honest. Always thought he got a bit of a raw deal it terms of criticism to be honest.
Thats what I'm getting at. Englands ''star performers'' before the tournament all play for Manchester United, however during the torurnament the star performers all played for Liverpool, Johnson,Carroll and Gerrard.
