I found the whole thing a jingoistic load of nonsense. Im sick of the whole "our heroes" rubbish. It used to be that you had to show bravery in a war to be considered a hero, now attendance is enough. They arent heroes, they're mugs.

The heroes are the guys in the world wars who were conscripted and made to go and do and see horrible things. Guys who didn't want to go but had to.

I've respect for the job these guys in the services do now, but heroes? Not for me.

Iv always said this, people say about soldiers that they shouldnt be in war and places like iraq.

Even as a child u know what a soldier does, if u sign up as a soldier you should expect to war.

That said i feel for the families who lose their fathers, sons, daughters, mothers, brothers, sisters etc.

Rnr, a lot of these guys live vicariously through others, they dont see the horror of war only the glory. As for rangers having that display, probably to appease the tub thumpers. They have an image to up hold dont you know

I use remembrance sunday to think about the horror of men who died who were forced to go to war by conscription. The event at Ibrox couldnt be further from this. it was more like a gala fun day based on the military. oooh, look at the big loud gun and the guys abseiling off the stand.

I think it was cheap and innappropriate.
