Strett's just on a wind-up mission.

Do you think if Hughes played for NFFC, Strett would happily accept £4m. He'd want the best deal. As Forest did for Jenas. One season, 33 appearances, four goals = £5m. Hughes, half the appearances, two goals and created the only opportunity we had on Saturday.

They're raving about Jenas coming back to Forest, but Newcastle paid £5m nearly a decade ago for someone relatively unproven. So according to Strett's reasoning, we should actually be grateful to receive less ten years later.

We now have a similar talent and we should simply doff our caps and hand hiim over for nothing. Because Strett says so.

It's NC pimping him to maximise the sale price; creating a demand if you will.
I've just seen Hughes standing on the post for palace's first goal from a corner, watching it loop tamely past him.
The fact he was the player who got your one and only shot on target the whole match, says more about your team than any one player

Jenas never rated and never will
Hughes 5 times the player at same age if not younger

I agree, were an average side in an average division but Hughes isnt in the side to defend corners.

There is £1m off his value because he is so damn ugly.
The Luke Chadwick of the tenties.

Why was he on the post for a corner then?

"Tenties"

Are we back to talking about gypsies again?

Typical Forest racist.

good question as i have no idea

Strett, you have no idea what you are talking about. Nothing new there, of course, but trust the opinion of those far, far wiser than you: Will Hughes is heading for the very top of the tree, and not just for Christmas.

Is your bitterness perhaps related to the fact that he left Forest at an early age. "I didn't like it there much" he said.

Forest = Willl Hughes' reject.

No he's not. He is a decent player in an average team who will be sold to the highest bidder.
I know this is not what you want to hear, sorry.
He will sit on the subs bench at best but loaned out to keep his fitness. Get a few pointless caps if he is lucky. It is unfortunate he plays in a position which is full of talent the world over.
Sorry but I wish him well.

"he plays in a position which is full of talent the world over".

Thanks for confirming my opinion of you, Strett. With the exception of Wilshere, there are no players like Hughes of English origin. This is one of the main reasons we are so inept at international level.

You just haven't got a clue, have you? Is it watching Forest that makes you this way, or is it being this way that draws you to Forest?

Not really, i cant think of many englishmen in his position, not that was this good at 17 anyway and come to think of it who is the next the big thing in europe??

£60m? Wow, where did that come from?
We were for sale; which is what you do when you want to sell something. Hughes is not for sale, but someone is making noises to the press about him being a 'talent'. This is pimping

Vidal. Why are you being offensive? I am not convinced all is what it appears with a player at Derby. Your vitriol towards me is not required

posted on 19/11/12

He's been picked for the U21 s at 17: is this "pimping"?

Strett, I've got to go out for a bit. Please refrain from saying anything vaguely sensible while I'm gone, as I will not be able to respond. Think you can manage it?

If you don't want me to call you stupid, Strett, don't be stupid.

Im not a big admirer of Clough but I cant fault how he has handled the speculation over Hughes

60m? Where did I post that? I merely pointed out that you can waste money, £60k, on a loan, and then it's till January, so more like £200k. As if Derby or other clubs run on a budget can do that.

As Bushwacker said, English football is not blessed with this type of footballer. For God's sake we had to recall Scholes out of retirement after he had settled down in front of the tv with his pipe & slippers.

Hughes ' plays in a position which is full of talent the world over.'

I think you mean Spain. Not us. Walcott, Oxlade-C, Zaha, Michael Owen in the past. Pace can only take you so far, you need guile & the confidence to retain the ball and use it intelligently. We lack these sort of players.

Don't look at it as losing a player, look at it as gaining a plaza

Good luck to the lad, hopefully he will encourage more albinos to get involved in football.

Wilshire, rodwell, cleverley, Ross Barkley, Conor Coady, Josh McEachran
Are these not all English midfielders?

comment by CapnBob (U1696)

Rodwell is more a defensive midfielder, we're talking players who can create, slight of physique.

People rave about Tom Carroll at Spurs, but I'd say Hughes, has probably done more than the Spurs loanee ever accomplished whilst at Derby last season.

BTW Forest are paying £15k per week for JJ, not £60k.
He is 'only' on £45k per week anyway

Strett:-

Yes

Yes

But NOT to the quality (and potential quality) of Will Hughes

I know you like being delibrately obtuse and sometimes it can be slightly endearing (a bit like the ch*v who gets his cutlery mixed up) but you are over-reaching yourself this time
