Scotland came from behind to beat a makeshift Czech Republic and go top of their Nations League group.

The Czechs, with a whole new squad after the players who beat Slovakia last week entered quarantine, took the lead through Jakub Pesek.

Lyndon Dykes marked his second Scotland appearance with his first international goal to level.

And Ryan Christie scored his second penalty in two games for the winner after Andy Robertson had been fouled.

But Czech Republic came close to levelling with Marek Havlik and Antonin Rusek hitting the frame of the goal.

Steve Clarke's Scots, who drew at home to Israel on Friday, lead Czech Republic by a point and are unbeaten in five matches going into next month's European Championship play-off semi-final against Israel.

Italy went top of Nations League group A1 by edging a narrow victory at the Netherlands, courtesy of Nicolo Barella's first-half header.

The Inter Milan midfielder rose highest to nod in and finish off a slick move.

Everton striker Moise Kean missed opportunities to increase their lead, while Memphis Depay scooped over an acrobatic effort late on for the hosts.

In the same group, Poland moved into second place after claiming a 2-1 win against Bosnia-Herzegovina.

West Brom winger Kamil Grosicki and Kamil Glik scored to turn the game around for the visitors having fallen behind to Haris Hajradinovic's penalty.

How SOC got Ted & Joyce so wrong is beyond me.

Christopher Timothy & Maggie Steed are both well known Actors and it should have been a coup for the Show with both of them joining but the writing was appalling for them from the word go - Maggie Steed quit less than a year after she joined and Christopher Timothy was quietly written out of the Show last year.

Northern Ireland U21s fell to a third defeat of their Euro 2021 qualifying campaign after losing 1-0 to group leaders Denmark in Ballymena.

Andreas Olsen's 75th-minute penalty proved enough to separate the sides.

The hosts struggled to create chances and had goalkeeper Conor Hazard to thank for denying the Scandinavians a more convincing victory.

The defeat leaves NI in fifth place in their group with six points from seven games.

England played out a dreary deadlock with Denmark in Copenhagen as the Nations League meeting turned into a drab non-event.

Harry Kane almost won it for England in the dying seconds when he went round Denmark keeper Kasper Schmeichel, only to see his shot cleared off the line by Mathias Jorgensen - but such a poor quality encounter barely deserved a dramatic finale.

Manager Gareth Southgate will have hoped for some talking points on the pitch after the off-field distraction that saw young duo Phil Foden and Mason Greenwood sent home for breaking Covid-19 protocols in Iceland.

Wolverhampton Wanderers captain Conor Coady made a measured England debut while Leeds United's Kalvin Phillips had a quiet introduction - and Aston Villa midfield man Jack Grealish finally got his long-awaited bow with 14 minutes left.

Denmark had the better chances until Kane's late effort, with England keeper Jordan Pickford saving well from Kasper Dolberg in the first half and Christian Eriksen shooting over when well placed late on.

England were sterile and conservative, creating very little apart from a Kane header off target and a low shot from Raheem Sterling that brought a smart save from Schmeichel before that late chance.

Arsenal youngster Ainsley Maitland-Niles became England's fourth debutant in the final minutes on a night of very little excitement.

Olivier Giroud scored his 40th international goal as France beat Croatia 4-2 in the Nations League, in a repeat of the 2018 World Cup final.

Chelsea striker Giroud, 33, marked his 99th cap with a penalty after coming off the bench to move one goal behind France legend Michel Platini.

Arsenal great Thierry Henry holds the national record with 51 goals.

Former Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren had put Croatia ahead but the world champions were too strong.

Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann equalised and Manchester United's Anthony Martial's shot went in off goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic to put the hosts ahead.

Josip Brekalo equalised but goals by defender Dayot Upamecano and Giroud gave France the win which keeps them level on points with Portugal at the top of Group 3.
