Fernando, Lewis and Mark where the most aggressive and left the others miles behind.
Have you noticed that when Vettel gets pole then the Red Bull team jumps for joy, but when Mark gets pole then they seem to just shrug as if a rival team had beaten them?
After Silverstone this year, which Horner clearly contradicted what he said at Germany 2010 about team orders, Red Bull had no choice but to do so. They have openly stated that they're building the team around Vettel over the last 12 months, any driver including Webber who would opt to stay at Red Bull is clearly a bit dim minded.
Red Bull is Vettel's team, it has been since he won for Toro Rosso at Monza 08, this has all been planned out, they thought Webber would simply accept being the no.2 driver, clearly not.
greg
mclaren suprised everybody at germany with a raft of upgrades and engine mapping systems that really worked and then some ,
however i think what really gave mclaren a significant advantage was ferrari and to a lesser extent red bull have never been able to get heat into there tyres the way the the mp4/26 can in changeable conditions such as we saw at germany ,
just my opinion but i believe if it is warm at hungary normal service will be resumed between alonso and the red bulls ,
have a sneaking feeling we are about to see the very best of alonso in the next few races ,
the way he blitzed everybody at silverstone and got so very close to the superior mclaren at germany in a f15 that is clearly not suited to damp/cold conditions suggest that when conditions do suit the ferrari he could be on a mission that will take some stopping --
Greg
Don't get me started on Horner bud. Can't stand the guy.
Martial
Good post and on the money barring the mapping systems.
Other than that, would say you got the rundown on the temperature issues to a tee.
My personal opinion, Lewis and Fernando are the vital percent ( element) in extracting a performance from a car not running at the level or as yet on a par with the Red Bull that can make this year exciting yet. Here's hoping
Greg
Another good article mate.

BBC weather forecast on the F1 branch of the site predicts RAIN for Friday and Saturday, Im not going to lie, I love this if it comes true.
was we all know, the cars cant be touched in Park Ferme conditions, and set ups cant be changed between Qualifying and Race as Brundle explained this weekend.
Wet Qualy = Mixed up results
Dry Race after wet qualy = Guaranteed racing action!
I think McLaren have upgraded a car that was looking tired and now it seems to have a new lease of life, and Hamilton has gotten use to the changes quicker than his team mate has.
I believe Hamilton and his new specs will be causing Vettel a bit of headace from now till the end. Hammy set his intentions this week, everything that could of gone wrong for him already has, he's brushed himself off and hasn't given up. A bit of a bad run is inevitable for any driver, and looks like Vettel's luck has finally run out
I'm looking forward to a photo finish at the very last race of the season.
Yes a photo finish between Hamilton and Vettel for the championship would be the best outcome for this season if hamilton was to win it.
Great Article!!
For me, Hamilton and Alonso remain the greatest drivers in Formula One today, and I honestly believe that one/or both of them can reel Vettel in. But they will need assistance from themselves and their teammates to take valuable points off Vettel.
If McLaren & Ferrari continue in their current vein of re-found form then anything is possible, which is basically what Alonso said on the TV interview.
mclaren suprised everybody at germany with a raft of upgrades
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Two small upgrades was what Hamilton and Whitmarsh have been quoted as saying.
martial artist just cant accept that Hamilton was outstanding this weekend and won with the third fastest car.
"a raft of upgrades and engine mapping systems"
What?
Someone has not understood what he read in a quote from an interview.
Perhaps he should read it again or take the trouble to understand the sport he is commenting upon.
I realise that the mere presence of Lewis Hamilton in F1, or the very mention of his name, somehow manages to get under the skin of would be adults but I find it quite comical.
I agree Ross, Engine Mapping has been in Formula One for years now, how somebody could assume that McLaren has benefited from new technology spells one thing to me - a genuine fair-weather fan. I love the fact that people rate my articles highly - I thank them for that dearly - and I try to keep them as fair as possible, However, dim minded and uneducated responses must be put to light in these circumstances and I cant stand people who watch one grand prix or 2 and put their mind forward after hearing one sentence as if it makes all the difference. My words to them?

suggest you delve a bit deeper and read how hamilton himself was praising the designers back at the mclaren research and design centre for the work they done on the mp4/26 since silverstone and how it transformed the car at germany
---- or maybe you think the car magically improved by itself since silverstone -
PS - gregg ---- no need to shout at me with you caps lock on just because you dont agree with me , post to me like an adult and i will give you the same respect -

As always martial artist tries to belittle Hamilton's race wins. I remember on the old 606, you had a debate about someone when he won the Chinese grand prix.
Basically you said, Hamilton won the race because Vettel had a faulty KERS system. Meanwhile Webber had a faulty KERS system and would have finished second if he had a couple more laps.
I also remember martial artist/xiggly say that the Mclaren was at the same level as the red bull and he felt that it was Vettel adding the extra 1 second per lap. It's clear you do not know much about this sport.
It's sad that when people hate a driver/drivers, they come up with pathetic excuses to belittle them.
Sad really

have you even tried to open your link that you posted on here a couple of nights ago , if you cant open it how do you expect me to ,
regardless of what links we post to each other that neither of us can open hamilton himself praised the design team for the improvements they made on his car since silverstone and said it transformed the mp4/26 ,we all heard him say it multiple times to the media at germany -
call them what you want , upgrades , improvements it all amounts to the same thing , the mclaren was a significantly better car at germany than it was at silverstone
----------- that was my initial point -
as for your comment about my arguments with another poster on another forum -- you mind your own buisness and i will mind mine and we get along just fine on here --
belgarion
what would you like me to say about hamilton then , all i said was i believe the combination of the improvements on the mp4/26 since silverstone and the way the mclaren can get heat into its tyres better than the ferrari and the red bull in chilly conditions gave it an advantage over red bull and ferrari at germany -
that is my harmless opinion and i stand by it , if that bothers you that is your problem not mine ,
if you are going to attempt to quote my opinions on a previous forum at least get the story strait , i said i believed from abu dhabi 2010 and the early part of this season the red bull and mclaren had a similiar performance and vettel was making the difference ,
if you have a problem with that opinion try and prove me wrong --

you posted a link on this site that nobody can open because the site does not allow you to open links that people put in there comments so there is no point in even posting links to each other because nobody can open them -
it really isnt rocket science -
as for our disagrement about hamiltons car at germany , hamilton himself in multiple interviews that we all heard said the design team worked hard inbetween the two weeks after silverstone and germany to improve the car and praised them for doing so which was my initial point in the first place ,
----- the car was significantly improved for germany , call them improvements , call them upgrades , but the car was still significantly improved as was my initial point that seems to have upset you so much
-- or do you think mclaren just twiddled there thumbs for two weeks after silverstone -
as for dragging up old arguments that dont even concern you that died when the bbc forum finished --
why an earth would you want to ruin a new forum by doing such a childish thing -

You called Lewis Hamilton a "little black boy"

i have joined this new forum to debate formula 1 and nothing else , i certainly have no interest in digging up silly arguments i had with other people on a forum that no longer exists ,
for the sake of harmony and not ruining this new forum i suggest we do the same and stick to formula 1 and nothing else ,
as for the hamilton link about his upgrades on the mp4/26 at germany , here is a link from hamilton himself explaining the upgrades himself ,
