Why is it? Running is running. Players that play on the flanks have quicker bursts more often. How many times have we seen Johnson bomb it down the flank either with the ball or overlapping.
The run a similar distance every game. Allen maybe slightly more, possibly a few hundred more metres per game. If at the age of 22 if he is tired after 20 games he may need to work on his fitness more. Was Gerrard ever tired at the age of 22?
I disagree. In the middle they have quicker bursts more often. On the wings they have longer bursts less often.
Whatever it is I'm no fitness expert but two of the three look knackered and Sterling looks like he needs a game out.
sterling is a joy to watch such a young age to have the gift he has if you're sending him out on loancan we have him
no seriously he has a bundle of talent

TOOR these prozone stats would disagree. Fullbacks and wide midfielders do more high intensity distance, more high intensity activity, more sprint distance and more number of sprints than a central midfielder. A central midfielder does on average cover more distance in total but not by a huge amount.

I told you this already. I also told you that doing longer distance sprints less often is not as draining as doing shorter distance sprints, more often. They didn't disagree with me, they said exactly what I said, only they obviously know a lot more about it.
But again, do you not think Gerrard, Allen and Sterling look tired?
Furthermore the players on the wing get rests whereas in the centre you're always doing the short sprints and chances of direction. It's just a more tiring position and why it's normally the first change a manager makes.

No you didn't say that. You said "In the middle they have quicker bursts more often. On the wings they have longer bursts less often."
The prozone stats say that fullbacks and wide midfielders do more high intensity work, higher number of sprints and cover more distance at high intensity. That the complete opposite of what you said. CM''s cover more distance, but wide players do more high intensity short burst sprints more often.
The wide players both midfieldrs and fullbacks are usually the fittest people in the team because of the work they have to do.
I don't think they look tired. I think they are off form and tiredness is being used as an excuse. They shouldn't be tired because they have only played 20 games so far. If they are tired then there is a fitness issue.

Has Sterling done anything?
