Yes if he is not a flash in the pan and keeps up the good work he would be by a mile the best choice (assuming we don't get Pep).
His status in the game mixed with his clear intelligence, eye for a bargain and attractive style of play make him a very strong contender.
I dont think Pep would want to manage Arsenal. I think if he does come to England he would go to Chelsea, the Arsenal job will need someone who is willing to stick around and fix the mess Arsene has created.
David Moyes would be perfect for Arsenal
Wengers is doing a fine job,he should be their manager for the next 20 years.
You can just tell he is building something special,i reckon they will win the FA or Carling cup in the next 8 years.
The wait is almost over arsenal fans
too early to say isn't it,
wasn't a lot said about the younger managers last year like Brendan,Lambert etc.
need to give it couple of seasons just to see like others have said if flash in the pan.
Moyes would be a good shout but see him going to utd.

I hope not. I would like to see Pep here if possible.
Moyes would be excellent, he would bring that defensive side you so lack and has a good eye for talent on the cheap.
thought you wanted Martinez
not for me,
he does get his teams playing the right way, but sadly they only start performing second half the season when they are in danger of getting relegated.
jenners every year people big up a couple of managers. A few year back Coyle was hot FFS.
I dont think Martinez is that great a manager. He has done well with Wigan but any decent manager can integrate hard work and pressing tactics.
Whilst Moyes has not won anything, he has little to play with, and has now got his team challenging for top 4 and every team in the league dreads playing them.
At present no one fears Arsenal or Wenger that is the biggest problem. You need a manager to kick your players up the backside and get them playing for the team.
Arsene does not strike me as the kind of guy to do that.
trouble with Arsenal is every time it looks like they are getting it right they lose important players that could potentially have got them challenging for honours.
i know they don't want to hear this but should imagine some of them fear losing Wilshere at some point if he ever lives up to the hype.
Wenger it does look like is coming to the end of his reign there but who will replace him as it is big boots to fill, have to look at his over all Prem record, and not many can better it.
Jurgen Klopp for me. They'll probably be handpicked by Wenger though, meaning some randomn Japanese guy than none of us have ever heard of.
I still don't get the Pep obsession that seems to be around especially in the media. What he achieved at Barcelona was incredible, but so was what AVB did at Porto. He's only been a manager at one club where he was already a hero, and was completely inside his comfort zone, not to mention the amount of money he wasted.
I'm not saying he'll fail in his next job, but the way the media hail him as a saviour for whatever club he chooses to go for seems more than a little presumptuous.
Pep has set Barca up for European domination for the next 10 years.
Whilst Pep had probably the greatest set of players ever, he still implemented a system where the players worked hard, for the team and always stuck by his morals.
He is a top manager who still had to get it right and choose the right players, system etc.
I know he had it easy with the players he had, but I dont believe for a minute he couldnt do it elsewhere, given time he would replicate the success at Barca.
Trouble is, Pep is very selective and there is no way of knowing where he wishes to go to next.
Also could Arsenal or United afford his wages? Apparantly he's on £12 million a year.
Trouble is, Pep is very selective and there is no way of knowing where he wishes to go to next.

Do we really know whether Pep is selective or not?

I read somewhere where his rep said Pep will choose where to go after his sabbatical.
I imagine Pep from his deamenour to very classy, and not just bounce from club to club. I mean after managing Barca he can pretty much choose anyone he wants.
Being classy and all, I dont get why he would want to manage Chelsea
Premature to say that, and can you really say all their success was down to him? I'm not going to be one of those people to say that anyone could manage the current Barca side, but undoubtedly having such a crop of talented players coming together at the same time made a massive impact, and aren't they the fruits of Cruyff's work with the implementation of La Masia?
Remi Garde or Dragan Stojkovic WILL be our next manager, working with Wenger who will do the "Dein" role.
How about the manager of Olympique Lyonnais, our very good friend Remi Garde.
Was never a great player for us but he certainly knows his business as a football manager and has performed very well at Lyon.
I'd welcome his application for the Gunner job.
Has Dutch Master Bergkamp filtered me?
When Lyon give Spurs a thrashing in the Europa, Gardes application will be well and truly sent in.
