Has Suarez now passed Fernando for LFC fans

Yes.

I actually got rather sick and tired of Torres's lacklustre and frankly miserable demeanor during the last few months of the season.

Suarez is a fighter, Torres certainly wasn't.

I don't know in all honesty.

Suarez is a frustrating player sometimes and can try a bit too much on occasion whilst the real Fernando looked like he would score with every touch sometimes.

surely both have been the same at the start of their careers here.

too early to say Suarez is regarded better, but considering he is our current player and has the right attitude for now, he could just as easily go the same way as Torres.

a lot of us older folks have heros of a dif generation and they are generally in the all time Liverpool team, don't see either of them in in that category, although Torres COULD have been, same as Luis COULD be.

but as regards to has he overtaken, well surely they have been the same, esp at the start of their Liverpool careers, most would love both but i think people would struggle to choose between them.

yea fred ...my sentiments exactly ...

when torres was throwing hissy fits on the pitch and playing awful ..it affected the whole team .......

suarez gives 100% every game...and after the whole evra/suarez thing ........after his mistake , hes bounced back and showed the premiership thats hes up there with rvp ...

a true liverpool legend ..

At the beginning of the season I would have said No.

Now, definitely Yes. Torres only edged it due to a superior goal and finishing record which Suarez has now easily matched this season.

Very sad to think we did have the Suarez-Torres partnership up front at one point, but only for a few hours.
What a partnership that would have been.

Suarez may not score as many goals as Fernando. One of the reasons for this is that he as yet the team behind him isn't of the same quality.

However, as an all-round footballer, he is superior to than Fernando. Torres is a goal scorer (or was ), whereas Suarez is a footballer, who has the ability to play a number of positions.

Yep..
Suarez is always fighting for his teammates and never stops running.

Imagine Suarez and Torres playing together at their prime with a midfield of Gerrard, Masch and Alonso.

I feel sick...

Ha, very true Fred.

Neo. That sums up the article point very well. This though came to me during the game when Suarez was tearing the defence apart.

Someone said TORRES could have been a legend and thats true with the first two years he had.

Thanks for the response everyone.

Same here Fred.

Then again, dream partnerships on paper don't always work out in reality, Drogba and Torres for example.

I think they'd have been perfect for each other but you never know

Hard to say. I absolutely loved Fernando, and he was the jewel in the crown of the best Liverpool team I've witnessed.

If you take out the annoyance at how he played in his last season or so (if Suarez does move on, I can't see it being preceded by at least a year of not giving a toss) and how he left at the very end of a window, he was pretty awesome.

If Suarez keeps his current ridiculous form up for another year or two he'd outstrip him, though.

The general feeling i'm getting from people is that it would still take Suarez until the end of this season in his current form to move in front of Fernando Torres?

i feel suarez is better than torres at his peak. however he needs to continue this form for another year. if he's still this good this time next year then he'd have overtaken torres for me

Suarez is my favourite Liverpool player of all time

Thanks.

P.s. Don't think that the club or some people have not considered the prospect of looking into Torres coming back to the club somehow.

Has Suarez now passed Fernando for LFC fans?

Yes.

Suarez is a more complete player and is now scoring plenty of goals as well, however Torres was out of this world for his first 2 seasons admittedly in a much better LFC side.

Its pretty close for me, ask me again in six months months and I'm sure Suarez will be the answer.

Suarez easily for me, Torres is a nancy lady boy.

Taking a view of their first two seasons I'd probably say no. Torres was still very much in his pomp and the fans absolutely adored him.

Fernando Torres Liverpool's No.9 was for me the greatest individual song for a player we've ever had and I revelled in watching him play.

Add on two more seasons and obviously the relationship had started to sour, culminating with a statement of loyalty backed up by a transfer request. Comparing those two players and it isn't even a contest.

Problem with Suarez is that as majestic as he has been this season, he's also been the cause of a lot of trouble, and for a lot of fans, myself included, he's having to build his relationship back up.

To be fair to him he's going the right way about it, and I regularly find myself dazzled by his ability. I guess a lot of fans don't have the same issues with him I do, but even so when you compare Suarez of two years to Torres of two years I don't think he's quite there yet.

If he carries on doing what he's doing (and from what I've seen he looks like he's got more longevity than Torres) then it won't be long until he has completely overtaken Torres, even at his peak.

Look at the reception Suarez got from the Ajax fans when he left and look at the reception Torres got from us.
Tells you everything that.
