What was Wolfie's average.

the bbc only seem to show us their averages when they go anywhere near respectable

i'd be surprised if he averaged more than about 75

Anfield i'd be amazed if he'd averaged as much as that. he didn't score very highly at all and with a less than 20% check out rate.

i'm probably like most folk in that i only watch the BDO when it comes to lakeside.

after watching from the Ally Pally it is astounding the difference in standard and that is even with double the amount of entrants from round 1

Anfield

Playing on tv is huge thing, some struggle and it ain't easy

But the the amount of loose darts is amazing

Barney and Anderson both averaged over a ton in first round. surely more than 4 others would have averaged more than 90.

can understand what you mean about the lights. one of the rounds Adrian Lewis looked like he'd had a bucket of water chucked over him.

i'd like to think with this shockingly low standard on the BDO they will be more receptive to amalgamising the sport.

Always rated Adams but he was shocking today. He wouldn't of got through the prelims of the pdc playing like that. Missed so many doubles and a few legs towards the end going to 21 to 25 darts. Not far off my sort of standard.
The commentators did keep saying how bad his year has been but as there is lack of coverage of the bdo i haven't seen for myself.

you have to wonder why the like of Scott Waites and the silverback have stuck around there. i take it they want to sign off with a lakeside title first

BDO usually just base the averages on the first 9 (the scoring darts) so the woeful checkout percentages don't tend to pull it down like they should.

It's some comedown after the PDC being on! I'll still watch it and there are defo some top players but so many plodders who are at a standard similar to a very good pub player. It's sad

I've noticed huge gaps in quality between matches. The Bunting, Kong, Fitton and O Shea matches were PDC standard, but then others like Richie George, Garry Thompson and Steve Douglas were atrocious. Some of the guys in the 2nd round don't deserve to be there.

Cheers for that clip Rap, best bit was the look on the refs face. A sort of wtf just happened look.

BDO is awful. Even the set up is poor. The board sounds horrible when a dart hits it, and the cameramen need to be trained by the looks.

The best BDO players are up with the second tier of PDC players. This is shown in the Grand Slam every year.

The problem is of course the high turnover in players in the BDO. Not many establish themselves.
Also more do have jobs, as BDO prize money is not great. On the other hand PDC players tend to be able to concentrate on darts. Alot of the BDO players who do switch are given "signing on" payments to enable them to quit their day job.

BDO is still far better for bringing through players, and in Holland it is still very strong. They would be better off taking the World Championships to Holland, tbh.
