If it goes through we might as well take the rest of the year off.

Ginger - you are a voice of reason sir
Ginger - I would be surprised if the SPL came back with anything other than 12-0 in favour. It essentially guarantees the places in the top tier of Scottish football for the current 12 for at least 2-3 more seasons. And the additional income from that would far outweigh anything they would have "graciously agreed" to divide up further down the tables.

Spot on Ginger...that's been the best thing about this season for me - just getting out of the routine of seeing the same teams.
Ginger - I entirely agree - 4 league games a season against each other is utter madness and basically treats the fans as cash cows, instead of customers.
But with the brain trusts at Hampden, what do we expect?
Maybe I'm getting an old fogey - Ive got one you wanna swap
but I harken back to the actual enjoyment of visiting all those different grounds and the excitement building up - we have this in abundance cmon over you know you want to!!!!!!!!!!
Ive not really being paying attention to this but does this mean that next year we will play all the teams we played this year again plus 8 from the current division 2?
That sounds great....cant wait
Also - we should have a vote. If they want the TV revenue we generate then we deserve a vote.

PB - yep, if the new set up starts in August, the current SFL3 will merge with bottom 8 from SFL2.
Just as SPL would have no relegation, SFL1 would have no promotion.
SFL2 would be the ONLY league to have promotion this season.
It is a shambles, now look i am not saying i want Rangers fast tracked anywhere but right now we have the chance to do something with Scottish football because it is soooo boring right now.
Why are they not listening to the fans? after all we are the people who pay to watch the football.
I would love to get a hold of Regan and Doncaster see what excuses they come up with.

Ginger, it makes absolutely no sense is there nothing we can do about it? any suggestions?
Suggestions? Here's one.
How about all those who were as vocal demanding (correctly) that Rangers not play this season in the SPL, get as vocal again about their objections to this.
Supporters clubs tell the clubs. Get the Chief Execs worried about future income & I will GUARANTEE this will disappear.
If the clubs listen to their fans of course.....

Agreed Ginger that sounds ten times better than any of they tw@ts at Hampden can come up with.
The people running the game are only interested in the financial side of the business and because of that playing against each other only twice a season is an non starter.
Sky are only interested in games involving Rangers and Celtic. These are the games it can sell the advertising for at a decent price.
The clubs rely on the Sky money to fund the wage bill. The take at the gate doesn't cover the running costs of clubs.
Celtic, fair play to them this season on their CL run, probably don't need the sky money as much as others because of their CL run but the prudence being shown by their board through the transfer window suggests that most of the income generated from CL will go towards the running costs and debt servicing for the coming couple of years.
There's more I want to say but I fear I'm boring you all!!
