And, both are really boring
The names are endless!
Whitlock, Barney, King, Anderson. Imagine how srtong the BDO would be with these still guys in it!
The BDO had a really chance to do someting when Ollie Croft went. They could even have taken the PDC merger offer, but still they wanted to do it their way and nothing has greatly changed!
The best thing the BDO can do is concentrate of Dutch players and fans. Try and get a stranglehold on upcoming European players.
This World Championship should be played in the Netherlands.
Definitely. The BDO is worse than Arsenal though. Everything about it is so bad.
Very poor man's. The thing that winds me up besides the poor standard is the announcers. They are terrible and some of them sound as if they have speech impediments.
A lot of it is the atmosphere too. Everything is better about the PDC.
You expect to hear the announcers at the PDC say "one hundred and..." every time a player throws.
Whereas, at the BDO it's more like "thirty-two... fifteen... six..."
I find the "atmosphere" at the PDC awful, tbh. Just a bunch of drunks on a sing-song. That is where the BDO is better, they cut out all the shít and let the players play.
Went to the PDC and loved the atmosphere, although I do like a drunken sing-song.
At the end of the day it's just darts.
im not keen on the pdc atmosphere prefer the lakeside crowd.
Well done Scotty
IMO the PDC crowds have gone too far. All the dressing up and the stupid signs were bad enough, but the constant singing when players are throwing is awful. I don't think there should be a "Snooker silence" but nor do we need a "football crowd".
A lot of time it turns into panto, which is why we see more and more bad blood between the players at end of games. The crowd has lost respect, and the players are beginning to join them.
Agreed
Think alot of it is down to the fact that each audience is there for different reasons. BDO fans are mainly knowledgeable dart players there to enjoy the darts whereas a majority of the PDC crowds are non playing yobs there for the beer and laugh.
All this bdo bashing really winds me up.
Like many darts purists, I have time for both organisations and appreciate what both offer to the sport. The bdo are the best at nurturing and bringing through new young talent through to a competitive level.
The pdc gives a player the opportunity to go professional and really make some cash with its pro circuit.
As a darts fan in general,I love the fact that both offer the sport a purpose.
Ps Scott waites can easily hold himself in the pdc. The pdc would be nothing without the bdo. They need a co existence to succeed.
Well done Waites, a very good player who could easily compete with most PDC players. A poor tournament this year, 1 outstanding player, & he won easily. O'Shea is the darting equivalent of Jimmy White. A bridesmaid. & always will be.
He won it far to easily. Surely he must come over to the PDC now I don't see the point in staying there any longer, he's won all there is.

I like O' Shea (great bloke), but that's quite disrespectful to Jimmy White.
Jimmy White got to 6 World finals when the best players in the world at the time were playing.
O' Shea, is losing in finals, when most of the best plays are in the PDC. He really should've won last year, couldn't have asked for a better chance.
Jimmy White never lost in a final to a player of Kist's standard.
Fair point just true, I was a massive Jimmy fan when he was in his pomp, the 1992 & 1994 world finals the most gutting. Like you though ( see my profile) I am a huge Ronnie fan ( the best) gutted he ain't at the Masters, snooker just isn't the same without the world champio.
Agreed Wether,
The 1992 World Snooker Final was most disappointing because Jimmy really deserved it and played a peak Hendry off the table for 3/4 of the match.
1994 was more about sentiment and hoping he would somehow cross that line against a Hendry who had broken his arm during the tournament.
So true about Ronnie, so difficult to get interested in Snooker without the World Champ.
As for the darts, would be interesting to see what would happen if Waites and O' Shea left for the PDC. Love the fact that the BDO hasn't gone for the tacky scantily-clad girls and footy songs route, but the quality will be too low were they to lose these two as well.
