It's simple business - supply and demand. If we get consistant amounts of st holders the prices are justified.

BBKP

You're off ranting again.

You commence a thread to invite comment and then simply revert to your mantra. Can you not see it? Do you really not understand?

BBK, it's just a hypothetical. I'm not for losing either. Nor do I believe we'd do an Ipswich and turn the profit over to SG. I'm just interested which one would make us fans more or less upset? I lean to keeping Snods. But, it's a case of splitting hairs.

captain carlos

It's actually quite simple, as is the question I posed.

Carlos what it also sheds light on is some fans willingness to make assumptions and not see the wider possibilities at times.

I'm trying to keep the faith. But getting slightly worried regarding signings. Keeping Gradel, Snodgrass and Becchio are all positives. Brown and Lonergan are potential positives. But if say Michael Johnson gets snapped up by Wolves or Leicester instead of coming to Leeds that would be a great disappointment. Still hoping for M.Johnson, Wade Elliott, Lichaj and Le Fondre to turn up at Elland Road. Or at least one or two of those? On loan perhaps? Please?

I agree.

Eric, to answer your question to Harj, clearly hanging on to both is better for the dressing room. However, if they made a boatload off both and all of that money was given over to SG and he brought in 4 top quality additions that gave the team the balance that we need, the dressing room would probably all say aloud "Our leaders believe in us. Let's go win promotion."

posted on 27/7/11

eric...i don't think it would effect the dressing room at all, they're professional footballers, dressing room any dressing room disharmony would imo be brought by

a) incompetent management
b)disharmonius players

i wouldn't say that those 2 players were disharmonius...

Hypothetically then, we get 3 million for gradel and optimistically, 8 for snoddy. 11 million, asuming sg gets the lot, who do we buy?

posted on 27/7/11

harj - major contradiction there. They cant be proffesional in one breath then unproffesional the next. Either things affect them or they dont.

carlos...no it wouldn't effect the dressing imo if they were sold or kept...

Harj, I think it would affect the players if they both got
sold and the money went toward the lobby of the Bates Motel. That would tell the players management does not have ambition on the pitch. It's human nature. Even Pros read between the lines. Imagine Howson and Kissa at the pub after a few losses and a few bevvies: "What the eff are we playing at?"

Ate you all druk??? Why o why would you give a unproven manager 11m to spend?

What you would do is get rid and get a proven one in. 11m is no more then leicester have spend.

Batty - so in reverse it is a positive thing that they are staying then?

Hmmm..point taken batty..

That Bates is a greedy selfish feck who is only on it for the money, our money at thelong term coat to our club. Mild heart attack for Bates please.

meme - look a little closer. I said hypothetically. It means suppose, a situation where or a governed state. A game if you like. All you have to do is give an answer.

Captain, yes, I posted that earlier. But, like I said, even Pros read between the lines. They're not idiots when it comes to football. They're probably looking around the dressing room one minute thinking "we're not that bad. we can do this." Then seeing the Leicester's, Ipswich's etc. bringing in top quality, looking back around the dressing room the next minute, and thinking "crap. why aren't we bringing in quality like that?"

Not all of them. But I'd bet Howson, Kissa, Max,
Becchio, Snoddy, that level of player have. At least once.

Stoopo, you posted what I was thinking. Cheers

Batty, I see your point but they could also be looking round and thinking that from an attacking point of view we have lost killa and maybe johnson but gained a lively looking nunez, clayton looking like he might break through and we retained gradel and snoddy. Athe back we have a new keeper, a new kisnorbo and a defensive midfielder in brown. All in all a better side I think.
