that freekick save if van der saar was there he would stay and let it in, de gea always seems to know how to save them lol. He is superman I think. Carrick completely miss hit pass, de gea at least didn't do anything rash.

DG should have done better with their goal. Despite the bad pass from Carrick.
sigh
typical de gea bashing
disgraceful = especially from our own fans.
wont criticise our leaky defence but would rather criticise a young goalkeeper doing his best who will be world class one day. give him a break ffs the goal wasnt his fault
De Gea should have booted it out of play. Watching it again now.
Carrick made it difficult but not impossible.
I'm just watching the game via football first. The commentator goes mad at De Gea. At the en of the day it was a poor back pass and the striker got there first.
If that's any other team it's blamed solely on Carrick.
I'd rather go 1 goal down with 11 men, than De Gea to lunge for the ball take the man out and get sent off and penalty.
Can't blame De Gea for that, blame Carrick I'm afraid. Won't stop the papers though

carricks fault all the way
Exactly. Rodriguez is getting there first. If De fe commits he's gone.
Hippo I suppose my last post answers you too
sigh
im not bashing him I am criticising him.He or any other PL keeper should have done better in that situation.
Great keepers are not just good shot stoppers. Its the bits such as this that defines keepers.
Carrick is more at fault than De Gea but I don't know what De Gea was doing either. Completely pulled out of clearing it. Dropped a fairly routine catch as well.
Made a good save but shouldn't be immune to criticism.
Agreed RBW
People are getting too defensive about De Gea.
No-one's saying we should sell him. He just needs to improve as with any young player, keeper or not.
RB&W
Sorry bud, that one is down to Carrick.
I'm not saying he couldn't have done better. But at the same time I don't hold him responsible. Carricks mistake caused the goal. De Gea just failed to make up for it.
VC
yes I agree it was down to Carrick, initially... it was a crap backpass ...but DG jumped like a fairy.. it looked like he bottled it?
RBW, would you prefer he followed through and got sent off? Because Rodriguez got there first so that was the only possible outcome
RBW:
He made the decision early to come and claim the ball.
Then realised that the striker was going to get there first and pulled out of the tackle to avoid a penalty/red card.
Could have stayed on his line originally I suppose, still think it's harsh to criticise him here

rbw I think it could have been a lot worse if he had lunged into the challenge with a resultant red card and pen..
Hes making a few mistakes himself he dosent need to take the rap for other players aswell
Maybe. btw I'm not a DG basher. Im happy with him to be our No.1 but he still has to improve with the bits and pieces. As a shot stopper he is second to none in the PL
But he's trying to get to it first. He could have done better. But he's not to blame.
You wonder at times now is the criticism getting to him. At times he looks worried. Anyone notice van persie reassuring him after he spilled that shot. Then he pulls off that great save from the free kick. He needs to bulk up this summer. Maybe go on the same program Rapheal did.
'Blame' is a harsh word.
Carrick played a risky pass back.
De Gea could have been braver.
Simple as that. We won and De Gea and Carrick will have taken a hairdrying.
