If Lillis gets a result at Derby would it be worth the risk of putting him in charge till the end of the season and bide our time on the managerial front?

No, not for me, Lillis is Town through & through, but not a Championship manager, the honeymoon period is alive and well as we speak !

I think if Town win at Derby, or put in another good performance and get a draw even, then Town should leave him in charge ....If it ain't broke, no need to fix it.

Plus...we haven't time for a newbie to come in and try and impose himself...we need points, and there's just 17 games left...why upset the applecart ?

A new manager would bring all his own backroom staff, everyone would have to learn yet another way of playing..and how would it be any better than we have at the moment...when we're playing so much better...why risk it ?

I know other mangers will be observing our new style of play, and suss us out soon enough, as they did after our bright start when we were the unknown quantity and had the element of surprise on our side...but if we can start winning a few more games, it would be a big call to replace Lillis and his crew.

The thing is how will he cope with a loss ? Could he bounce back ? Can he spot a good player before anyone els and tempt him to sign for us ? This could be another Jackson as when he first managed us we whent on a good run and stayed up but once the honeymoon finished we stared to lose things whent wrong he didn't know what to do , and in the and he was clueless how to put it right ...

He'll probably not get the chance I reckon...deano seems determined to bring someone else in...all we can hope for is that it's not for a week or two, during which time Lillis can get us another 6 points and a 5th Round cup tie at home to Wigan...

That would put us on 42 points and well on the road to the safety target of 53 points. Even Elvis should manage to gather up 11 points from the remaining 15 games, you'd think..

Big call this for Deano...but I reckon he'll have a new man in place by the time we play Cardiff City....here's hoping it's the right man

If the FA are going to 'investigate'.....
Why worry !
Everyone should 'button it' from both sides..what can they do ?

Lillis = promotion.
If the 'management' said yesterday there aren't going to rush into anything.....that should mean giving Lillis at least the Derby & Cardiff fixtures to set his stall out.
He'll do ok. you'll see

He won't win them all, we are just working hard..and playing on the edge with aggressive play...not all refs will like it...but if he can gather us a few points to take the immediate threat away, he'll have done the job.

As for the FA investigation...reports of Holloway effing and blinding at anyone and everyone...and palace players held back by security staff from getting into Towns changing room after the game...presumably looking for retribution...that won't go down well.

They lost, get over it

Holloway couldn't fight his way out of a wet brown paper bag anyway.

Re- Lillis & how would he react to a defeat !
With a whole lot more 'bottle' than either Clark or Grayson before him ever did.
You guys are making the 'job' far more complicated that it really is.
Manage... to cope.
manager etc,
management...You either have it or you don't.

The same question could be asked of this Scottish fella,?
Be fair.....
Does anyone know much about him .
That in itself is a gamble.. another gamble.

dont know why a few on here are questioning lillis,s capabilities....he served under the great mick buxton and will have picked up a lot of knowledge off him...buxtons sides always played with passion and pride, just like we are starting to do now!
