Nice. 5 Andy Farrell broken noses from me
I can see this being a really good game, akin to our 5th round cracker against Derby back in the late 1990s.
If cup games give us anything more than an increased chance of injuries and suspensions, then it's the chance to play without pressure. Luton ousted Norwich, Oldham did Liverpool......whilst I'm quite happy to accept Wigan are a far more talented side than we are, I still think we have a good chance to progress.
I have engagements on Sunday (as i didn't think we had a cat in hells chance of getting past Leicester!) so will have to make sure I'm near a TV. We always seem to do ok in televised matches, we could have the new manager factor with us - we have a real chance!
Darn (Aussie)
JK Boots (er...Guinness drinker ) &
Chicken Feed (Wiganer)
were all sat drinking in the pub..looking at the lonely Character sat by himself over in the corner..They knew him, But couldn't put a name to the face.....
Later..
a few pints later...
"It's MIRF" syas JK.
& sure enough it was.
Darn says 'Lets all buy him a pint'
'eye' says Chook... 'One each of what we're drinking'.
Darn gives Mirf a pint of Fosters,
JK a Guinness & Chook a pint-a Bitter....
They leave Mirf to it, He supps the lot, then comes over to the 3.... of , er Us. !
"Darn, That Lager was Champion, just hit the spot"
& with that he shakes Darn's hand................
'It's gone, Mi bad backs fixed..Mirf, That's a Miracle'..
next was Boots....
"JK, That was the best Guinness ever, Thanks mate"
& he Shook JK by the Neck....HAND, he shook JK's hand.... ...
All of a sudden JK rejoiced !!! 'Mirf. My Arthritis in mi knees has gone....Oh Joy, It's another Miracle'......
Mirf approached Chicken Feed.........
"Back Off Mirf ! I'm on benefits".............
Sorry there's no PUB info or directions Chook !
I'd run out of 'characters' on the thread...........
Aspley Bridge Inn. You'll meet Jacko there..A finer Fella you couldn't meet....abart 10 mins walk from the ground.. piece-a-peace.
Buy him a Pint Jacko....................From ME
I'd prefer 5 's Champers....than 5 broken noses
Hey, It's tough Drinkin' VB's for Two mate.
Big for chicken feed. Match previews for all games despite not much input from other fans it seems. Gotta respect the lads commitment. Lets make sure he feels welcome should he come on to join in the banter

Nice one Darn, 5 'Up and Unders' from me old mate...
Having had a quick peep at Wigans website it looks like Martinez will again be utilising his squad for this cup tie.
Obviously Premiership survival is number one priority, and they are experts at it. However, one feels that if they did get relegated then it might just be the start of a steady decline to whence they came.
I must admit I have a bit of a mental block with Wigan Athletic, I still see them as Northern Premier League side, even though it's 35 years since they finally got elected to the football league ..Indeed I remember watching Town play them in an FA Cup 1st Round tie in 1973, when Town won 2-0 and Wigan were a non league side.
Interestingly (for me, the stat man) Wigan have never won at Huddersfield in eleven attempts.....mind you it's ten years since we last played them
Another stat, for stat fans (and I know you're out there)..did you know both Roberto Martinez and Graeme Jones are ex Wigan players, and in fact both won Player of the Year in 1996 and 1997 ?
I love this stuff....
Anyway, it's all down to how Town play this one...and who decides how we play...surely it must be Lillis with Robins (if he signs) watching from the stand...Lillis has had the squad all week and must surely have already set up the game plan in the players heads.
Wigan have some excellent players, and are very committed...so this is a tough game for Town. Martinez is a superb manager too, so as Darn has already said, it could be a tactical master class between Martinez and Lillis.
Whatever the outcome, it's a welcome relief from the league, and gives us a game in hand on our relegation rivals which hopefully will be played when ex red Robins has us bob bob bobbing along in a week or two..(see what I did there)....
I'm going for 2-1 to the Terriers in a mud bath of a game on a pitch which will suit us better than the elegant skills of the Wigan players...
Cheers Darn! Champers, great pressie! Robins confirmed see the Town website.
She's had them a while Wethers, god knows how she kept it from me!
I've got a great feeling about this one, two nil to Town!
there is a lot of good feelings going round at the moment..
seriously hope it lasts till tuesday and the following saturday..
4 points or more from next two league games or a cup tie win??? league points everytime..
should we be playing sunday with a game on tuesday???

daft question really.. but it may well affect how we do in both games..
