Need to be careful here - context is everything.
Until such times as his mate says hes offended by it then you can't call him a racist.
I'm sure those who referred to Pat Bonnar by his nickname were not all racist.
It was an extremely foolish thing to say and even if his mate is ok with it I dont think he should be using that term.
Reckon it would get you three days in the house in my workplace if you used it..
Ffs, do you actually think chuckles words, in an interview, are acceptable in this day and age?
I'm flabbergasted by the amount of bears backing the Yorkshire pudding

Curly i'm not alawyer but i'm pretty sure if i went up to a cop and called him a p#ki i'm pretty sure i would be arrested...
Bonnar's nickname was in no way derogatory
It's the significance of the person that's important here tim...
He's not saying this to "people",random strangers...this is banter with a friend and business partner, probably in the confines of his office or wherever...a conversation privy to them alone
Until now
Now the term is racist....as is the word n igga...how many times do you think friends and business partners kanye and jay-z call each other this every day?
For all you know imran calls him a fookin white honky SOB
ffs the deflection from some people on here is unreal.

"Do you even take time to converse with them?"
Them??? WTF
Why wouldn't anyone converse with "them"?
There are plenty of "them" in Scotland, so you really wouldn't have to go out of your way and it really wouldn't take much time.
Unless there is a reason you might want to avoid conversing with "them".
Barry did you even read ma post or are you just wantin a like tim?
His name is Patrick, thats a common nickname. Shocking counter there

I'm not referring to Paddy
He was called Pa kki Bonnar by his team mates, he was even called it on the tele by sports commentators back in the day..
Charles green has admitted he lied and that he is a racist in the last few days......enjoy x
Anyone who feels it is ok to refer to another person as "apaki" really needs to cop on to themselves
I'm sure it's not ok with you in the 'real world' though
