Liverpool
A few weeks ago we were scoring 3-4 a game. We have played good football this season but need to be more clinical.
this is a good article.
its about time the goooners were ousted for being fakers. pretend to play good football when realistically, they simply dont.
if they did play good football it wouldnt be red seat day every week at the emirates its never at capacity... loads of empty seats v norwich
Cant see smileys on work computer but I assume you were being a prat.
Massive club Spurs.
To be honest, Liverpool do play nice football but the end product needs tweaking up.
I disagree about Chelsea playing sublime football. I havent seen them play great stuff since the Jose days. Yes they are a very strong team that can win games, but not on amazing football.
Arsenal used to play the best football a few years ago.
Nowadays I think City and Swansea play the sexy stuff Spurs used to under Harry but under AVB we have slowed down a little, yet we do play attractive at times.
We haven't played good football for ages tbh, certainly not this season or last season.
I think Arsenal still play good football. Define 'good'.
They keep possession well, get in behind opposition (but not as much as they previously did) and they create chances.
Arsenal generally have 60% possession per game, often.
I think by good he means fun to watch, not boring, i dont find utd entertaining to watch but that doesnt matter because they are so effective
Chelsea dont play good football? WHAT.
It's the only thing that has given me comfort in this otherwise horrifically turbulent season.
We played some of the best football under Carlo England has ever seen
Never said don't play good football, I said not sublime football
Chronic
Predicting that we will drop points in our next 3 games? Just like you said we will against West Brom and Swansea you never learn do you.
We do still play good football but not as good as before. We certianly play better than the tiny totts thats for sure. Spurs play hoof ball
Never said don't play good football, I said not sublime football

Hazard's goal versus West Ham?
Torres' goal versus Newcastle?
Ramires' goal versus Utd at OT?
Ba's goal versus Utd at SB?
Hazard's goal vs Norwich?
???
I think the myth of Arsenal playing good football is a continuation from their Invincibles era when they really did play good football with the likes of Henry, Pires and Bergkamp who were all great players.
If this current Arsenal side play the best football then I´d rather stop watching football.
Barca dont play the same way they used to either and people outside spai havent even noticed their transition...
myths perpetuate....we coud have Zidane, Gullitt, Van Basten, Cruyff, and Roberto Carlos in our team and still w'd be boring drivel in the eyes of many.

You're highlighting great moments not overall sublime football. Gareth Bale has scored some stunning goals over the last few months, doesn't mean our football has been sublime
I chose those particular goals due ot the sublime football needed to play them..none of them I would say...are incredible strikes in isolation except maybe Ba's goal...
I am not trying to overrate my team, it has a lot of problems that need to be adressed, we aren't a great team at this moment in time and if Spurs and Arsenal pip us to CL they'll have deserved it...
but a team move involving brilliance on all levels that results in a goal surely is sublime football no?
Never said don't play good football, I said not sublime football
-------------------------------------------------------------
So which team in the Premiership have played sublime football this season ?
As said above myths are perpetuated and nobody is more guilty of perpetuating certain myths than the sporting media especially when it comes to Arsenal and their supposedly "great style of play".
I think that the reason the media has perpetuated this particular myth with Arsenal is simply because there are so few positives to talk about regarding Arsenal in recent seasons that for the sake of convenience and something to talk about they´ve undeservedly been this great football tag.
Paulo, siblime football for me is when a team plays lovely football throughout a game, and on a weekly basis that is consistent. Barcelona and Bayern Munich stand out for me on that.
Scoring amazing goals can mean moments of brilliance. But Chelsea, for me, are not a brilliant team. You are easily a force in European football, I won't deny that. You play very strong football and are always in the correct end of the table (last season was the first time since the Vialli days that I have seen Chelsea finish outside the top 5, but then you did win the CL). But I wouldn't call Chelsea's football amazing. Strong yes, amazing no.
For the first 100 years of their history Arsenal were rightly called the original hoofball team, and by god did they play some boring stuff. OK, since Wenger took over they have played some better stuff, but only because their teams have been stuffed full of foreign players.
I love the way the modern Arsenal football supporters think their club invented playing the ball on the deck, nothing could be further from the truth.
Superb, to be honest no team in the PL has played what I call sublime football. Only 2 team claim that for me, Bayern and Barca. The best football in the PL comes from Man City and i'd say Swansea too. Both teams play the game in a way that fans enjoy watching the game. Spurs played stunning football under Harry at times and this was recognised by many watching us. I wouldn't say our football is as pretty anymore
But I wouldn't call Chelsea's football amazing. Strong yes, amazing no.
---------------------------------------------------------
Nobody is saying that Chelsea play amazing football but I can´t help that your opinion is very stereotypical and somewhat stuck in the past.
Similar to the stereotypical opinion that Arsenal play great football.
If you look at this current Chelsea side one thing we are not is strong. In fact I would say that this current Chelsea side is distinctly lacking in power, dynamism and sheer muscle.
If anything this current Chelsea side has become far too similar to the current Arsenal side which is not a good thing.
If there is one thing that has been proven over the last 8 years it´s that you won´t win anything in English footbal if you lack steel and power in your side.
Superb, I think you are failing to read what I have said Since when have I made any comment based on stereotypical views? If you care to look back, I said Arsenal used to play lovely football, not anymore. As for my views on Chelsea, please read back on everything I said properly before assuming my views were stereotypical.
To clarify very clearly, the OP mentioned sublime football so that's where this debate comes from.
I actually do appreciate the way Chelsea play. Since the Vialli days when you were playing in the Cup Winners Cup, I have found your football watchable. During the Jose days, you looked unstoppable at times. All i'm saying is that although you are now a young dynamic and strong team (when I say strong, I actually mean you are no pushovers) I don't find the football you play as powerful as opposed to a few years ago.
I don't find the football you play as powerful as opposed to a few years ago.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Fair enough although you did say strong and it´s easy to confuse strong with powerful.
One thing this Chelsea team is not is powerful and it is an area where we are very much lacking.
