Jack played against Norwich only because of Rosicky's injury.

Rosicky should 100% start.

If Wenger starts Wilshere we will struggle

wenger will drop kosceilny for verm.

no way will Arteta not start

The hint yesterday was that Arsene is picking Monreal. This could mean that Podolski will start. Nacho is a little more circumspect going forward and Podolski doesn't like defending.

I am not sure Arsene will play Rosicky in this case. Cazrola should come into the middle.

There is no way Wilshere will start. Although Wilshere is not good in the Cesc position anyway, he was patently not fit against Norwich and Wilshere is not going to get fitter in two days.

My main concern about playing Everton is their height at set-pieces - and our lack of height to combat them aerially.

Fellaini, Anichebe, and the two centre-backs will be big threats aerially, whilst they may even opt for Jagielka at right-back (bringing Heitinga into the centre) to give them an additional option. And with the injury to Diaby, we're looking a little light in this regard.

It's not just the corners and freekicks I'm concerned about though; Fellaini is very good as a target man for goal-kicks, often bringing the ball down and allowing Everton an effective passage into the final third.

We stopped this pretty effectively in the past by having Song stand in front and a centre-back behind, but I'm not really sure we have the options in midfield to prevent this.

Might have to stand Ramsey on Fellaini's toes today; he's not the biggest, but he's the biggest we have at the moment.

Which is why I was surprised that Arsene was hinting Gibbs was not going start. Gibbs is one of the better players in the air in our squad.

I think most of us would like to see Podolski up front with Cazorla on the left and Rosicky playing CAM. I've been crying out for it all season, I think (fingers crossed) that tonight is the night Wenger will finally do it.

I hope Vermealen is dropped. Kos and Mert have a far better understanding and are physically better than the quite weak Verm.

Ramsey and Wilshere aren't the best of ball winners, that's a bit of a concern

Stats say differently. Ramsey makes more tackles per game than Arteta and has the highest successful tackle percentage in the league at over 90%. He might actually be the best ball winner we have.

That is quite impressive, where did you read this??

I misread the tackle frequency stat actually. He makes a tackle on average one minute less often than Arteta. But meh.

Agreed. Although when Monreal was signed, Wenger was quick to praise the Spaniard's aerial ability, so perhaps he trusts him in this sort of encounter.

I appreciate your reasoning for wanting Podolski upfront, but I'd be a little concerned about losing one of our strongest players aerially for such a physical encounter.

TheSkins, have to say that stat has surprised me.

Ramsey has completely won me over. After the Bradford game I had completely given up on him. The form he is in at the moment makes it pretty much impossible to drop him from the first team. Long may it continue.
