City by far for me.
I wouldn't say any of the others have significantly strengthened yet
Apparently now that Arsenal have missed the boat, a new buy out clause has sprung up for J. Mata in the region of £50m. I bet that Arsene is kicking himself for taking so long to decide if J. Mata was good enough for his side.
Team that has strengthed the most - Sunderland
Top 4 team strengthening - I would probably agree City as well. Man Utd have just replaced and, for me, Young seems to be a bit of a silly buy as they have plenty of Attacking Midfielders.
Team that has strengthed the most - Norwich.
Arsenal done nothing, Chelsea done nothing, United done average, Liverpool strengthened, Spurs done nothing, we've done a fair bit.
Not sure until playing, but average for United grated....a little bitter there but hey. But in truth I have a sneaking feeling you might win it this season with us in 2nd, that Derby 3 games to go might win it for you. But on the other hand I've always said that United will and must win the Champions League in Munich!
Bitter? We've signed Aguero, you've signed Ashley Young. If you sign Sneijder then I'll say you've made a world class contribution to your squad, but so far, much closer to average than class.
Don't think we will win it this year, new territory for us with a young squad. This season will be a steep learning curve for our lads and I expect us to give it a go but wouldnt be suprised if we finished without any silverware.
no I'll think you'll win something, but bitter was tounge and check.......hope wes comes but United have a habit of messing big deals up! But manchester now feels like Milan in the 80's and 90's!
manchester now feels like Milan in the 80's and 90's!
Which is better for Manchester imo(would love nothing better than a Manc 1-2) City 1 of course.
Don't get me wrong Aguero is quality im sure but if Tevez is going I don't see how that can be counted as improvment, I see it as similar to Van Der Sar to De Gea. Both go from top proven premeirship player to untested (in prem) exciting talents....
Clichy is obviously an improvment but not a hugely impressive one... similar to young also...
City have sold and bought a defender, remains to be seen how much improvment there, United have bought a defender so thats an obvious improvment. United and City have both had midfielders retire though Uniteds was probably more important...
If we assume Tevez will go then its fairly equal, if not city have improved more...
But after all that im going to go with Liverpool or Sunderland...
If Tevez stays then City definitely, if he goes then they have replaced a player who has proven he can hack it in the Premier League with one who has yet to do so. Plenty of very good foreign players have failed in the EPL so time would tell whether swapping Tevez for Aguero is an improvement or not.
Another point is that until the window is closed its pointless to make a comparison, sometimes it goes bonkers in the last week and even the last day.
have you been to Milan, wasn't too impressed compared to the other great Italian cities. But I was meaning 2 great teams packed with great players slugging it out!
you think Milan is bad, try Turin.
siempre - do you suggest we wait until the window has closed before we think about the new season?
no but what is the point of comparing who has strengthend most now ?
in the next week Tevez could go to Inter and Sneijder could go to United. So before a ball is kicked, all the comparisons are worthless.
and nothing could happen siempre.
you are such a killjoy.
anyone 'strengthening' now will have lost valuable bonding time in pre-season so the strengthening may not be as strong.
ha ha, i am a grumpy old man !
I agree, much better to get the players in for preseason but its not always possible, especially with signings from foreign clubs. I have a feeling the last couple of days will be frenetic.
this transfer window is far from over but any deals now will have been protracted or last minute jobs. either way that usually isn't satisfactory for the club.
most teams have got most of their business over and done with. mutd are only waiting on sneijder, city on nasri.
chelsea have done nothing really. arsenal haven't (if cesc and nasri leave) and spurs
Can't understand why Chelsea haven't been at all active, would have thought their new man would have a few new personnel he would want to bring in.
Arsenal, well, it's a coffin of Wenger's making.
Thought the Spuds would have been a bit less tight fisted than they have too.
