4. No

Kaboul is in injury trouble. Gallas is probably gone.
And the Academy is apparently less than happy with Fryers' progress.

Next season we should actually try and win a trophy and not have all this celebrating or moping around if we squeeze into 4th or just miss out.

Instead of aiming to get that extra win and a dozen goals that would mount a top 3 challenge why don't we aim to try and find an extra 10 points to break the 80 point barrier. Man Utd finished on 89 points and have changed manager. City have changed Manager and Chelsea have changed Manager. While Arsenal and Tottenham's ambitions are to squeeze into 4th.

It's ridiculous!

Only thing I disagree with is not taking the europa league seriously.

I would rather sell Benny and get in Luke Shaw, but Rose will be a good addition next year.

Good article

Huddles has to go, how many times has he been caught on the ball, he thinks hes playing with his fat mates in the park .. we need to move the ball much quicker so its bye bye hudds and parker

1. we are better off with Bale than say £60m to spend? HARD TO SAY, DEPENDS WHO THE 60 MILL WAS SPENT ON !!!

2. Ade should stay and with a good pre-season he will more likely be the Ade of 11/12 than of 12/13 - YES, AGREED

3. a creative midfielder is our priority transfer - ALONG WITH STRIKER, YES AGREED

4. we can probably get away with making no further changes to the defence, hoping that a fit BAE & Kaboul, plus a returning Rose & a developing Fryers is probably enough to get by - BENNY WILL GO I EXPECT, NEW LEFT BACK TO COME IN

5. If we got an offer of £2-3m for Parker we should sell him - I WOULD KEEP HIM TO BE HONEST. IF YOU SAID 5 MILL THEN I WOULD LET HIM GO. HE IS THE DIRECT REPLACEMENT FOR SANDRO, IF YOU SELL HIM WE NEED A DIFFERENT REPLACEMENT DM.

6. Huddlestone should stay - ONLY IF WE DONT GET AN OFFER OF AROUND 8 MILL

7. Townsend & Rose should be re-intergrated into the squad - TOWNSEND YES, ROSE NOT SURE, MAYBE SELL WHILE HIS STOCK IS HIGH, SUNDERLAND LOVE HIM, LEVY CAN TAKE THEM TO THE CLEANERS.

8. Next season the Europa League should not be a massive priority - NOT A PRIORITY BUT IF WE HAVE A GOOD ENOUGH SQUAD THEN GET THROUGH THE GROUP THEN REASSESS

9. Livermore must be sold - AGREED

10. Bentley must be given away. Even if we pay half his wages for 1 year.- FACK HIM OFF ASAP

"Huddles has to go"

Or stay if he can accept his Spurs future is to deliver a season of 2nd half performances like against <Citeh> .

posted on 20/5/13

To be fair to Hud, the energy required to turn that afro is immense, no wonder he keeps getting caught on the ball. I wouldnt mind so much if he could still pass.

Players like Luke Shaw need a season to learn off a more established player...if he went straight in he'd have nowhere to hide & it could crush him (& us).

I think BAE has been badly affected by his injury. He missed half the season and is then playing catch-up and seemingly unable to get through 2 games a week.

I think it is one of those positions where we can probably get away with doing nothing. Seems like Rose could do a job there, he was one of their players of the season.

As for Fryers, I believe players like that (talent & ambitious) need to at least see a bit of the first team squad action. Get them involved, give them something to really aim for.

I can't believe Adebayor has managed to get anyone fooled AGAIN on the back of one good game. Of course you want to believe he can turn things around and he can perform like he did against us week in week out but he does have a history of playing well when he needs a contract / move / fighting for future, as soon as he's comfortable he turns back to the player we've come to know.

Surely you want shot of him? He must still be on pretty healthy wages and there are better young and hungry options to compete with Defoe?

did looks like say fryers is miles off being ready and also has a bit of an attitude problem.....!?

1. we are better off with Bale than say £60m to spend? - On this instance Yes.

2. Ade should stay and with a good pre-season he will more likely be the Ade of 11/12 than of 12/13 - Yes

3. a creative midfielder is our priority transfer - Yes, Moutinho

4. we can probably get away with making no further changes to the defence, hoping that a fit BAE & Kaboul, plus a returning Rose & a developing Fryers is probably enough to get by - Yep

5. If we got an offer of £2-3m for Parker we should sell him - No chance. The sooner people get over this unneccessary Parker hate the better. We have only lost 2 league games in 2013, Parker has featured in a huge chunk of them, says it all

6. Huddlestone should stay - So Parker goes but Hudd stays? Hudd is a liability and needs to be sold asap

7. Townsend & Rose should be re-intergrated into the squad - Yes

8. Next season the Europa League should not be a massive priority - Disagree. We should take this cup seriously. Imagine in 1972 we decided not to take the UEFA cup seriously, our name would never have been listed as the first ever UEFA Cup winners

9. Livermore must be sold - Ok

10. Bentley must be given away. Even if we pay half his wages for 1 year - Yep

11 - We need to offload Gallas and maybe a few others too.

Next season The Europa should be a MASSIVE PRIORITY. I am sick and tired of all this 4th place nonsense over trophies.

8. Spot on, the Europa cup is a dreadful tournament highlighted by the fact that both finalists began in a different competition. I believe we lost valuable points to Liverpool and Fulham because of our participation in the later stages of it and despite having 42k on the waiting list we cannot sell out the Lane on Europa nights.

Other than that AVB had a good first season especially when you consider the fact that 2 of the teams who finished above us are bank rolled into positions far above their natural place in the order of things.

I can't believe Adebayor has managed to get anyone fooled AGAIN on the back of one good game.

He has still scored more prem goals in 2013 than Torres. So you obviously want him out of your club as well.

1. Yes.

2. Can't be much worse!

3. Disagree - rather see a striker first.

4. Agreed, although BAE and/Rose would bring in more than enough for a new first-choice LB.

5. No, 2-3m would be useless in replacing him.

6. Huddlestone should go!

7. Townsend & Rose.. Andros yes, Rose.. meh.

8. Agreed. Either win it or go out straight away. Given that a CL club will likely win it we might as well play the kids.

9. Livermore must be *loaned. Could be a decent CB.

10. Bentley must be given away.

"did looks like say fryers is miles off being ready and also has a bit of an attitude problem"

He may have re the latter, but my concern is on-pitch.
His basic defensive stuff (reading the game etc) is meh.
Which is more important than his undoubted attacking prowess.

You will be able to see some of this yourself at 7pm tonight.

bluedroog

in defence of Ade, he had no pre-season as City did not involve him and we did not get the deal done until deadline day.

So he arrived with us unfit. Not only that he missed the whole pre-season where a lot of the AVB changes will have been drilled with he players. Everyone said how different training was compared to Harry, so there was a lot to get used to.

He spent a few weeks getting fit and then got injured.

He came back and after a few games then got a red and 3 game ban.

He returned in December only to disappear again in January to the ACON...played 4 games...was "exhausted"

He has come good in the latter part of the season. His fitness and confidence was poor. He made some dreadful misses. His languid style does him no favours when things are not going his was, but he improved and was important in the run in.

We paid £5m for him. It would be hard to sell him because of his wages. We would struggle to find his quality for £5m. The season before he had 17 goals and 17 assists in 35 games.

I also think our style did not suit him, not enough quality balls to him or enough players running off him for him to link with (as he did brilliantly for Sigs goal vs Chelsea...which he did a lot more of last season when he had VDV & Modric & Bale & Lennon all buzzing around him)

Hugo....agreed that a trophy is a massive target, but I'd rather target something that requires 6 or 7 rounds like the League or FA Cup than the Europa that requires 17 games to win it

Ade has taken a lot of stick but I think the lack of a preseason and injuries might have stifled him.

I can't really blame him because we did not create much for him to get the goals.

This

Dont write many articles or post much but was actually going to write one today about how we all get sucked into the hype of the CL like coming 4th is like winning somthing and how this kind of attitude is turning me against the game that I fell for as a young boy, watching spurs in the cups as a cup side that actually won trophies.
