Dark though.

Gervinho's season again ruined by afican cup, still scored some big goals put in big performances
Mertesacker probably the one that did his job quietly, very consistent

Giroud was absolutely panned with criticism at the beginning of the year, and to be fair he has been a very solid performer for us this year, all be it deeply lacking in the ability to finish.

Mertasacker has been playing well all season and he has formed a brilliant partnership with Koscielny. Very consistent and he may not be a fastest player on the pitch...but his reading and intelligence at the back makes up for it.

And also a special mention to Giroud...Top player and I'm sure he will come good next season!

Jenkinson - I was ready to write him off. Or rather consider him nothing more than talent nowhere near ready for the first team but he really proved me wrong.
Ramsay - No, the only reason he's getting praise for his latest average performances is because he was sooooo poor at the beginning. He's still gash, just not as gash as earlier in the season. Still has plenty of time to improve though and his attitude appears to be excellent.

Ramsey and Mert are my candidates.
Some people don't seem to realise how important Ramseys work rate is for the team or how much he gets involved. If anyone can be bothered to get the stats of distance covered, touches and tackles attempted (as he tends to slow attacks down a lot rather than win the ball) it will back this up but even that does not tell the whole story.
