Good wee signing. Goalscorers are hard to come by and at just 21 , plenty scope for improvement.

These two could form a really good partnership if given a chance together upfront.

I've been hearing rumblings from Celtic bloggers that we might not be able to register these new signings on the 1st of September. They seem to think we wont be able to get them playing until January even though they will be out of contract.

Can anyone settle my nerves on this and set me straight?

I think you have to ship a few players out because you have too many players aged 22+. Other than that I don't thing there is a problem.

His latest one on Daly was nothing more than an attempt to noise up people. Looking at the comments, it backfired and most people just had a go at him for being the bigot lol.

SFL Rule 115.2 states:-

A club shall be permitted to register, at any one time, up to a maximum of 22 players, who have reached the age of 21 years on 1st January of the appropriate year. The maximum number of 22 players includes players registered by means of a temporary transfer. Additional players may be registered by a club, however such players must be under 21 years of age on 1st January of the appropriate year.

Defence is the main area of concern for me too Zachsda.

I suspect as things stand we will be looking at something like this next season -

GK - Bell

LB - Wallace
CB - Cribari
CB - ?
RB - Mitchell

Cribari is hopeless at the best of times, and the other CB position could be anyone from Perry, Hegarty, McCulloch. None of them have convinced me at the back.

Even Mitchell worries me a bit. He played well the last couple of games when we played him but will he be consistent?

I know Daly can play at the back so thats an option but I suspect he will only play there when we have injuries.

Theres a lad who was on loan at Ayr last season called Kyle McAusland. Played most of the games at CB and did well from what I've heard. He should be given a chance.

We can play the new signings 3 times as trialists before we register them on the 1 of September. I think we have 7 games (league / cup) to play before that date.

I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure as things stand, even with the new guys coming in, we wont have more than 22 players aged 21 and over in the squad.

I think we should be looking to get young Gasparotto in to the first squad a bit next season. According to reports he was by far the best defender at the Hong Kong tournament last week.
I'm not expecting him to play every game as he's not 18 until September but surely we'll see him more often on the bench and getting a little run of games.

This is great but tbh our main priorty should be a creative passing midfielder and I have yet to see one mentioned.

Fransesco Stella was released during the season.

Kane Hemmings and Neil Alexander are both out of contract this summer and I dont think either of them will be kept on.

If all other ages are correct, that bring the number of 21+ players to 22.

I'm also expecting one or two of the current squad to move on such as Goian and Bocanegra.

So there shouldnt be any issues.

Bocenegra looks nailed on to leave so thats 21.

Cant see us keeping Goian, so thats 20.

Gives us room to bring in 2 more players.
