Non executive chairman, what does it mean?
Non executive chairman, what does it mean?
----------------------------------------------
Means he is still below the CEO in terms of decisions making.
He will basically be responsible for chairing board meetings, dealing with board matters, reviewing performance of CEO etc.
He wont have any dealing in the the day to day running of the club, like signing players, firing staff etc.
That still falls on the CEO, Craig Mather as things stand.
A bit like the Celtic chairman?

I've no idea how they are set up to be honest.
Its not uncommon.
Many companies have a Chairman/CEO who is the top dog, like David Murray was. But many companies do things the way we now seem to be.
See to be honest, I imagine board room re-shuffles happen at football clubs every month but we dont hear about it.
But because its Rangers doing it, its an easy headline for 'reporters' and 'journos' to spew out and look like they are breaking news.

Fixed DC
" we get the same old same old self interests perpetuated throughout every decision they make"
And this will continue the trend.

At least the alchy is away if nothing else
Maybe not - looks like Murray is staying as non-exec director, according to STV

Hang on the guy can't drink on an empty stomach because of a head injury, makes him very unsteady on his feet
Well he shouldn't be drinking then. He is/was an embarrassment to the club. The sooner he's gone, then the better.
He steadied the ship once......Now he's back!!!
There must be the faint whiff of cash in the air. Auld Waldo is never far away from a cash-cow.
Good news for Rangers.
"Good news for Rangers."
Dave King and The Troo Bloo Knights? Not really that good a news.
This whole saga has set Rangers back 15-20 years.
1) We need to rebuild brand, scouting and youth infrastructure.
2) Walter Smith as much as i love the guy he's a football coach not a businessmen.
3) I'd have preferred Allister Johnston as chairmen and appointed John Greig as possible ambassador of the club.
4) Install Walter Smith and a new recruit from the Dutch, French or Spanish setup, they are plenty out there. They're positions would have been performance, Scouting, networking, and youth development based on an attractive football style.
5) Sticking with McCoist, for the simple fact the sole of the club is quietly disappearing.
