I cant claim to be a fount of knowledge on all things Kone but what I've seen from him doesn't really lend itself to a non CF role.
I disagree.
Very pacey, runs in behind, good on the ball, strong ability to 'beat a man' and a good finisher when cutting in from wide.
What's his delivery and passing like?
Also does he provide any defensive cover?
The Albion system is more along the lines of the wingers being more strikers than actual midfielders. The 3 often change between themselves during the game also.
The 2 defensive midfielders of Yacob and Mulumbu allow a lot more freedom for the front 3 (4 including the AM position)
Long, Lukaku, Rosenberg, Odemwingie and Fortunè all played the role at certain times last season. Koné also played the position for Wigan a few times.
I'd be happy if we ended up with JH's squad.
A couple of pacey wingers in the mould of Sinclair/McManaman. Also DM to provide competition for Yacob and Mulumbu. MacArthur would be be good, so would Bridcutt and a bit cheaper. And a striker as well obviously.

Yes. Again, no surprise there. A good footballer, just too injury prone.
Shame about Reid. We always looked better when he played. Perfectly understandable that he's released given the amount of games he actualy plays.
With regard to signings, Kone just looks like a guy that should be wearing and Albion shirt and if the rumours about Mbokani are true then I will be a happy man...
