Im not sure but I think its West Indies next Afridi.
Apparently the Windies tour may not go ahead because the PCB want a tour with India with Tests.
I think Pakistan were meant to play WI's in Tests, 5 ODI's and T20's. But they will only play Tests and move the limited overs leg to some other time. God knows when!
Pakistan want to host India I think...In Dubai maybe. Dunno the full story, though it is something like that.
Looking forward to some test cricket I hope very soon. Most teams have there future tours all signed and scheduled but for us its a mystery.
Reading at some of Afridi's comment now and in the past, I'm confused. Afridi14, right me a few lines on what you think Pakistan should do in terms of squad selection after the CT
It's time we got rid of Farhat and Malik for good. I think everybody agrees. Kamran Akmal will never turn back into the player he used to be, so get rid of him. (Afridi14, we wanted him back because we have seen his batting abilites in the past, obviously he is pathetic so get rid now, we felt we should give him one more chance).
Now the important bit, get rid of the above and please do not bring back some more tried tested failures. I don't want to see players like Younis Khan, Imran Nazir, Afridi etc etc.
Umar Akmal is a must in the ODI team. Good average and no way would he ever play an ODI innings where he would let the run rate get out of hand. I actually had a thought, if we had Umar Akmal batting yesterday we would have won. May be an extreme comment, but he is a very confident player and is willing to take risks. This is what our batting line up needs.
We are no RSA or India who have specific players each format. Our management isn't strong enough for this, nor is our domestic structure. Therefore we need to follow what England are doing. They use players like Trott, Bell, who are test players, in ODI's. Trott's strike rate isn't the best but look at his average! Similarly Cook was dragged into the team from the test arena. The only specialists ODI players they have are Pieterson, Morgan, Buttler, Bopara.
We could use a leaf out of there book. Use players like Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq. Azhar Ali could open and deal with one end which allows Nasir Jamshed to express himself. Just look how much Nasir Jamshed had to limit himself because of walking wickets at the other end! Asad Shafiq needs a good run in the team. Our specialists could be based around Umar Akmal, Nasir Jamshed, Hafeez and then we should look to groom more specialists, ie Haris Sohail etc etc
In conclusion, we need to build a batting line up around Misbah, Umar Akmal and Jamshed.
Something like
Nasir Jamshed
Azhar Ali
xxxxxxxxx
Umar Akmal
Misbah Ul Haq
Mohammad Hafeez
Wicketkeeper
I heard Muhammad Rizwan, promising wicketkeeper likes to build his innings. Maybe we could try him a try and play a big hitter at 7?
The Mohammad Rizwan lad has to be tried and tested in one of the formats. Either ODI's and Tests. Or both. Umar Akmal, like AB for RSA can be used as w/k for ODI's. Should we try it? Not yet. Simple reason I want Umar Akmal batting as high as possible and concentrating on his batting. However, for now I'd give the gloves to Umar Akmal because we need a w/k for Tests and if someone can claim that place then we can use him for ODI's.
I'd personally have Azhar Ali at 3 and have Sharjeel Khan as opener, along with Nasir and they will bring that flair we want at the top.
I would have Afridi in the squad. But, not always playing in the first 11. We need his energy and positivity in the team. Even though he may not perform at times. He doesn't have to play every game, but having him in the squad would benefit others.
1. Nasir Jamshed
2. Sharjeel Khan
3. Azhar Ali
4. Umar Akmal (Wkt)
5. Misbah
6. Mohammed Hafeez
7. Shahid Afridi/ Youngster
8. Umar Gul
9. Saeed Ajmal
10. Junaid Khan
11. Mohammad Irfan
I'm suprised Afridi14 aka Waj has not mentioned Imran Nazir.
My team looks the best. Seriously.
Ahmed Shehzad over Azhar Ali Oh Waj! The same Ahmed Shehzad that you were slating on the tour of NZ a while back.
I don't want Afridi at 7. Makes our tail way too big.
I bet Safraz makes another comeback too.
You can put a youngster batsman or all rounder at 7 then. You choose. I'd have Hammad or Ehsan. Or because our batting is sooo inept I'd put a specialist batsman their.
Hammad has gone downhill with both bat and ball.

1) When the champs trophy squad was announced – I said there and then this is a squad of failures and Muppets in a green shirt. YOUR comments were as following……”One thing I can only say is at least Pakistan are being bold in their decisions”…bold or just plain stupid??? … then you go on to say……”At least we will have 7 proper batsman and decent number 8 if either Ehsan or Wahab play Also heard Asad Ali is a good player too. Excited to see how he gets on”…….. 2 questions for you….(1) 8 PROPER batsmen – proper…do you own a dictionary? ….(2) how’s the excitement going?
2) You wanted akmal, as did many on here. Says it all. I’ve always wanted umar akmal in the team as wicket-keeper batsman, for me, he’s the future and the team needs to be built around him. We all know farhat and malik are a waste of space.
3) azhar ali – craziness at its very highest. Azhar isn’t fit enough to lace Trotts boots let alone be used as a comparison. I agree he should play in tests at 3, but shouldn’t be within a 100 mile radius from the ODI team.
4) I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… rizwan, haris sohail and co shouldn’t be anywhere near a major tournament. You don’t bring in kids or newbies and a major tourney – it’s a complete no-no. you lot rant and rave about these guys when they are clearly a bunch of wannabes.. I look forward to seeing them take on Bengalis/Zimbabwe ect, because if you lot think they can handle saffers, England and so on, its just wishful thinking. Also, you guys were up hammads a55 12/24 months agoo, came in did naff all and now has crawled back into his little hole
5) I’ll guarantee you, no-more than 2/3 new faces will be seen in the first 11 come the T20 world cup in 2014 and the 50 over world cup in 2015. On that basis – pick your best fecking team. See my previous comment on here for that team

Shezad was a failure in new zeland but should still have been given a chance. At least hes got abit of technique and a positive mind-set.
K.A.S.H
Kash is the only one that supported the like of malik, farhat, Kamran and so on… in fact if kash became the new Pakistan chief selector, you wouldn’t notice anything had changed
Seriously though, it’s a good debate and all about opinions at the end of the day. This squad is utterly rubbish and boring to watch – although I’ll still turn up Saturday ... we need a team that dont wet their nappies before they come to the crease and play with positive intent.... thats all im asking for.
"Shezad was a failure in new zeland but should still have been given a chance. At least hes got abit of technique and a positive mind-set."
What a load of rubbish.
Technique?
Positive mind-set?
This guy has the worst technique, but most importantly an even worse mind-set!
He has played 20 odd ODI's and has a S/R of 67. And you moan at Azhar Ali So, if he has a S/R of 67 what positive mind-set is this numpty going to bring?
Btw, when we go on about the youngsters. I said before the RSA series and before this CT. That I rather Pakistan fail with youngsters rather than all these senior and experienced players.
We are not saying bring all the youngsters in, but at the very least bring in a few youngsters in the squad and then play 1 or 2 of them during the tournament to see what they can do. You say they are wannabe's what you rather prefer the likes of Farhat in the squad?
Wasim Akram said himself there has to be young batsman on the domestic scene who are good enough. It is only a case of playing them. You say they have no chance against the likes of RSA etc...but what is the point of having youngsters on the domestic scene PERFORMING if you are going to have the mind-set of they have no chance against the likes of England etc... Then they rather not play on the domestic scene. From the three formats I'd play two new youngsters at the most Mohammad Rizwan, the w/k in Tests and Sharjeel Khan alongside Jamshed in ODI's. That is not bringing in a whole load of youngsters!
K.A.S.H
Kash is the only one that supported the like of malik, farhat, Kamran and so on… in fact if kash became the new Pakistan chief selector, you wouldn’t notice anything had changed
====================
The only player i supported a little was Malik but that was only because he was the best of the bad bunch selected. He was also needed in the team for his 6th bowler option and fielding capabilities. As it happens he has been just as bad as Afridi so we need to call time on his Pak career.
As for Goofy i've always maintained that if he bats in top 3 he will score runs but if he comes at 7 he is clueless
Farhat i'm his biggest hater going. The only people that rated him was Winnings and Amir.
The only change we could make tommorow is Shafiq coming in so hopefully Farhat is told to F off and sent back on a separate plane home. Keep Malik at 7 cos he is useless, or even send wahab before him!
Kamran
Jamshed
Hafeez
Shafiq
Misbah
Umar Amin
Malik
Wahab
Ajmal
Junaid
Irfan
Thinking of it now we might aswell drop Malik and give a rookie a chance, ie Ehsan Adil or Asad Ali.
The positives are Jamshed and Misbah. I like the way Shafiq came back after being dropped, but in truth I cannot say anything about Amin because there are others who are at fault. I don't want anyone blaming any of the younger or less experienced players because in truth when the likes of Kamran, Malik, Farhat and Hafeez constantly mess up, don't expect anything from others. The likes of Amin and Shafiq showed more fight than them anyway.
Misbah in the first game played like a true leader, but no-one stayed with him. He made a score in the second game, but the others messed up again. However, at least in the field he showed heart and fight. I saw none of that from the likes of Malik. It's like they didn't want to be their.
And for the last game it summed up the tournament. We cannot blame the rain stoppages because the reality is these batsman are inept. Misbah needs more support in the middle order. As does Jamshed at the top.
We need batsman who can score runs and have that element of danger about them. Umar Akmal is a prime example. Then we just simply need to play batsman who can score runs on a consistent basis, with a technique good enough for the international stage.
Agree with you amir. Harsh to blame Amin with the seniors failing around him. He was not out today and did his best today but its a big hitter. Also agree about shafiq. He's in and out like a yoyo, either give him a chance or drop him straight off.
One thing you guys don't see on your tv screens and tht I noticed at the ground vs Saffers and India today is hafeezs attitude. He was bossing people around vs Saffers, changing the field and gave wahab an earful when he bowled a wide.......... Today he tried moving junaid a bit finer in the field, junaid refused and then asked misbah where he should field . I just think that hafeez thinks he's bigger than the rest and has some authority in that team... The guy needs to knuckle down and concentrate in his own game before mouthing it off to his team-mates. Someone seriously needs to have a word with him
Can't wait for Umar Akmal coming back into the team, will add a breath of fresh air and new life. Hopefully a new WK is tried instead of Kamran, hopefully not Sarfraz or Adnan It's time we gave consisten run of games to Shafiq, he has proved in test matches that he is a good player and could become a decent ODI player also. Misbah should put himself at 4 instead of 5 to avoid himself consistently coming into bat under pressure. Umar Amin looks decent, needs more games certainly, however I'm sure there is much better out there.
Possibly against the WI the top order could be:
Hafeez
Jamshed
Shafiq
Misbah
Umar Akmal
with one space left for a batter and a WK. Hafeez will not move down the order so we can forget about that.
Fatmore needs to get his finger out of his backside and act like a coach and drop Hafeez to the middle order.
Farhat i'm his biggest hater going. The only people that rated him was Winnings and Amir.
------
Can you highlight a particular comment where you got the impression that I rate him?
Winning,
What's your opinion in hafeez, shafiq and umar Amin? Personally wouldn't mind shafiq stating in now. I'd drop hafeez for a series or two until he gets real and concentrates on his own game...
Also, whilst I'd keep misbah in. He needs to take a share of the blame for the disaster. Hd chose and agreed to Malik farhat and co. what was he thinking?
Thats right Afridi, Misbah has always spoken in support of Malik. Infact, in general he has this policy of keeping them useless oldies in the team. It was in YK's era as captain when we saw the talents of Amir and U Akmal were found.
I agree that Shafiq deserves a run in the team, he surely has talent. But FFS get rid of Farhat, Malik, K Akmal. For Umar Amin, I think selectors have been a little mean to him. His first two international tours have been to England if im not wrong. Thats not very fair to a new batsman.
As for Hafeez I think he is a useful cricketer only if he is used properly. We totally lack a pinch hitter lower down the order and Hafeez can play that role very well I think.
Also to be honest no matter how much frustrated and disappointed we are, there wouldn't be too many changes here. This reality check is over. Next time we play in swinging conditions against quality opposition is I don't know when. And the role of conditions can be so deceiving that we were being expected to give a very hard time to SA when we were touring there, also in this CT we were being labelled as favourites.
