Blue blood
=============
What you sayt has SOME element of truth, but consider:
Liverpool in 2008-9 were competing right up to the end and only finished 4 poins of the top.

Arsenal since 2004 have NOT been in THIS situation, ie; not competing....surley you can see the difference??

I see the difference you're trying to point out, sure. I just don't think it's big enough to warrant the criticism of Arsenal when the fact is that they have stayed top 4 and competed on all fronts since they last won the league. Other than running the title close in 08/09, what have Liverpool done of note since 2005?

Besides, as I said, they also got to a CL final and, as someone else pointed out, won the FA Cup side 2004.

Getting rid of Hicks and Gillett last season was personally a bigger achievement for me than winning any trophy.

Arsenal have one thing Liverpool don't (a decent manager) so they're already ahead
--------------------------

A manager who doesn't know the meaning of the word defence...yeah really good manager.

I hate to say it, but for as long as Arsenal keep Arsene Wenger then they will continue to be trophyless. He is good at attacking slick football, wanting his side to always walk it in, and can be credited for trying to build a good youth system, but overall he has too many flaws as well. Dalglish is all-round the better manager, as those who may have forgotten will see this year, and one thing is for sure Dalglish will be able to take the pressure much better than Wenger.

It is no co-incidence that Wenger has a strop around March time as his side falls out of every trophy, and his bad attitude rubs off on his players, of whom the best ones now want to leave.

I think Arsenal lacks cutting edge in the goal scoring apartment.. Van Persie is injury-prone, and not world class.

No we were never in this situation in 2007/08 at all were we

Amazing, that Liverpool fans always refer t 08/09 as if it meant something. Where did they finish again? 2nd. What did they win? Nothing. Did they build on that season? No. So why are Liverpool fans so arrogant and persistent with what they believe to be fact that they are still amongst the big boys. Are they delusional enough to think that their new boys Carroll, Adam, Henderson and Downing could do what Torres, Alonso, Mascherano and Riera couldn't? Surely not.

Well Batman, you didn't really fight to the end at all. You completely lost it at the end of February despite leading the table, and proceeded to fall further and further behind as United took control.

We Liverpool fans know that we have fallen away over the last couple of seasons, however we also know that we are on the way back up. As for the players we have bought, they all know the Premier League and have all performed well in it, so I believe they will improve us considerably. One thing that cannot be debated is that we now have much better squad depth.

When fit, RVP is the best striker in the Premier League. And his injury problems seem to be a thing of the past.

It doesn't matter we were in the title race in May, we only lost out on it mathematically on the 2nd last day of the season, the exact same as Liverpool did in 08/09.

"As for the players we have bought, they all know the Premier League and have all performed well in it, so I believe they will improve us considerably. One thing that cannot be debated is that we now have much better squad depth."

They've also all been relegated in the past, 2 of which have captained their teams to relegation. Fair enough if you believe you have more squad depth now, maybe you have more depth than over the past 2 seasons but if you genuinely believe that you have more depth or quality in this squad than you did in 08/09 then there is little hope for you!

Not really, RVP is good but he is injured every season. There are also other strikers as good as or better than him such as Drogba, Tevez, Suarez, Torres (when on form), Rooney, and now Aguero.

We had a better first XI in 2008/09, but it is obvious that our squad has much more depth now. Squad depth has been a problem for years and years.

Why laugh at Suarez? He is a beast.

Suarez is a good player, but as good as RVP? Not right now.

posted on 6/8/11

If Suarez is better than RVP then something has seriously gone wrong with the world! He's ruddy awful in comparrison to the mighty Robin Van Persie.

Lol, Suarez awful compared to RVP. That's just ludicrous. Suarez just proved himself to be the best player in the Copa America. Whenever RVP plays for Holland he is genuinely pretty average.
Not to mention the fact that he is always injured. Don't get me wrong RVP is good and I'd like him to partner Suarez at Liverpool, but if I had to pick between the two it would be Suarez every time.

It's okay. I understand your delusion! Liverpool fans all suffer from the same thing. Your not alone, but now that I know you have it, I can help!

And even if he is average with Holland, (he's not but we have too humour your delusion to fix it, all part of the treatment) that doesn't make him a bad player. Messi is ruddy shoddy for Argentina, does that make him a bad player? The whole of the French International side played awfully, doesn't mean they're bad players though does it.

And Rooney's not good for England, but that's probably just because he's not very good

So a player's level is based on international performances is it? Players like Rooney and Lampard are awful then.

Well Suarez does brilliantly for both club and country so beat that

Well considering RVP is practically always injured in the league it seemed only right to bring in his international form. Last World Cup so many were counting on him to be the star player, he was yet again nowhere near, it was Sneijder as usual. Kuyt was also far better for them than RVP.

When he does occasionally play for Arsenal he is good, no doubt about it, but for you to think he is better than Suarez is clearly delusion on your part.

Enjoy finishing outside of the top 4 this season Gooners!

Yea, 4 goals in 13 league appearances. Van Persie comprehensively beat that.

God, there is so much wrong with that clown Aquilonso's comment but what is the point ridiculing him when he's filtered me. Pathetic fool.

Suarez is more than goals, you know that as well as I do. You must try harder.
