So that's the official supporters group and the actual club that have had to apologise in recent years.

And they had the cheek to label our fans as scùm last year at Anfield, hypocrites the lot of them

Always the victim the RS....until they do the same

Plenty of hypocrites on both sides.

Let's not descend into righteous fury.

The lot of them?

No, some are. Some will rightly denounce the incident and agree that both sides have idiots.

I'd suggest that anyone using this to point score also falls under the 'idiot' tag.

The reaction is a bit OTT considering what the @LFC account ACTUALLY tweeted.

The headlines are very misleading.

Media using the disaster to put more fuel on the fire for Sundays game is the biggest disgrace.

Cue fans making massive generalisations about opposing fans all being disaster mocking sc*m.

On the one hand, it's an overreaction, on the other, it's incredibly unprofessional and inappropriate. You also have to wonder if you have several people checking what goes out on the account, in all likeliness it was just one idiot who thought it would be funny.

I, and I believe many other Liverpool fans, do not believe that the incident should ever be mocked and taken fun of. It was a tragedy and whether or not they were our rivals, the implications of loss of life is more important than the petty football rivalry.

Small sections will be idiots for sure but it doesn't represent the club as a whole like any other club.

Congratulations to Red Russian, Winston and That's a Fact for some input actually worth reading.

it is disgusting to be honest, whoever is in control of that twitter account needs pulling up on it.

he should be bashing the "tweeter" for putting what he did, not cracking another joke.

as said before though, its the minority, and not the majority.

Good to see the reaction from sensible Man Utd fans playng it down. It was stupid, but it was one person, who I'm sure will be dealt with by the club.

I think the OP was looking for it to become a slanging match. Well done everyone for not making it that. .

I am all for banter and love nothing better than winding up rival fans but I am disgusted with this and cringe when I think that people from my club behave like this. Hopefully Sunday will all be bout the football but I fear a heavy defeat for our lot

Plus the odd bitter putting his in because they love a good whine about the RS. Sadcases

I seriously doubt that whoever replied to it actually cottoned on to what the spacktąrd was getting at by posting that playlist. It was retweeted a lot on my timeline on Twitter with people giving out, and I didn't really get what was going on until someone specifically said they were songs to which Munich lyrics have been attached.

I'd go as far as to say that the person who actually replied to the tweet is nearly blameless. The person/people to blame are the PR team who've tried to make the LFC Twitter account more (for want of a better word) "hip" in recent months. Cringey Coutinho photoshop pics, the constant quizzes, the attempts to interact with the fans more, leading to the account replying to Iindividual tweets, which inevitability leaves it more susceptible to mistakes like this.

Whoever decided the club's official account should go down this road of opening itself up to any idiot with a covert agenda is the person who should bear the brunt of the club's investigation, not the poor bloke whose only crime seems to have been not knowing Munich songs.

the constant quizzes

I like the quizzes

posted on 30/8/13

The quizzes aren't too bad in their own right to be fair, what I'm saying is that there's been a real attempt to get the club account interacting with the fans recently (with the quizzes being part of that), and that's been the root of what happened last night.

Basically, because of the strategy of trying to interact with fans, some random admin got suckered by a prïck having a dig at Munich that was very, very subtle unless you're completely aware of the songs involved, and even then it cpuld easily go over your head.

This is what the club is opening itself up to; I'd rather it went back to being purely a formal instrument of the website and a means of promotion. The attempts to be fashionable with the fans were David Brent-like at best, and at worst... Well, look what happened last night.

Who really cares about a cheap joke? Is anyone actually offended? Ok it's bad PR but it's all a fuss about nothing imo.

......................................

Unless my memories a bit hazy i don't recall Liverpool fan's saying that we were disrespectful during the minutes silence at Anfield last year, if anything it was the opposite.

The people who try and stir more than anyone is the media, you could just tell that they desperately wanted United fans start singing and chanting about Hillsborough so they could run their standard "football's day of shame" headlines but unfortunately for them all they had to report on was a football match.

I can't imagine the person in charge of the LFC account did it intentionally... But if it was just a mistake surely they should have someone a bit more clued up in charge of the twitter account...

I think most LFC fans would have been a little bit suspicious as soon as they saw the song title come fly with me.....

I'm not so sure... I was really confused when I saw it being retweeted and people calling the guy a sçumbag, I couldn't see what the problem was at first - and that was with people directly saying that there was obviously something wrong. I didn't make the connection until someone mentioned Munich.

I'm honestly not sure that you could expect your average Liverpool to see those three songs and see the connection unprompted. Like I said, though, the club have left themselves open to this sort of thing with this overly-interactive approach. There's a reason why most official statements and media accounts etc are very sterile.

I could delete your comment. I wont. I will leave it for all to see. But you must be very thick.

Dr Seven is one of the most intelligent supporters I have come across, and that's across this site, not just the Liverpool board. Very much like Red Russian or Red Macca on your own board.

He is clearly not the type of fan who sees something like this and tries to work out where the association with Munich might be because making Munich references is so far beneath him it wouldn'teven register to think that pathetically.

Unfortunately there are still plenty of those who will use events like this to try and point score between the fans, and to try and make out that it's all one-sided.

I'm pretty sure anyone with half a brain can tell who the real idiots are.

mmm... i also feel I am also one of the more intelligent supporters on this site.. certainly one of the most 'experienced' in terms of being there and done it, thanks

Still if you cant see how those comments are related to Munich ... I can only conclude that you are a bit of a wind up merchant
