Would prefer a straight cash deal.

Don't know too much about him to be honest...

Interesting to see that foghorn leghorn has scored more as well

We've scored 11 so far this season with Doyle in the side and zero when he wasn't.

I was joking, but still, until Doyle starts scoring goals like strikers should he will have the pee taken, good player though he is, he and us would like to see a better goal tally.

Good for both because you need him off your wage bill and you get a very good league 1 striker in waggy. With a run of games he will do well for you. For us, well he will provide good competition and a different sort of striker to what we have

We don't need him off the wage bill, Trish, especially if Sako goes to Forest. If the right offer comes along for Doyle, Wolves will take it, but he's playing well for us at the moment and is one of the best players in Div 1, for sure.

We are second in the league and have just won our last 4 games, so I would rather keep Doyle.

Anyway, there was only one Waggy at Wolves and we don't want another one, thanks very much.

Lot of negativity on the WBA (We're Bottom Again) forum. Sad to see...

I would agree with you if Wolves were struggling to score and/or losing games, but we aren't. We are averaging nearly 3 goals a game with Doyle in the side.
Remember, football is a team game not a game of 11 individuals, so as long as we look better and are more effective with Doyle in the side, I couldn't care less who scores.

i'd rather keep doyle right now. as has been mentioned above, we're scoring plenty with him in the side and we're 5 games unbeaten. no point in changing the first team unless we absolutely can't afford the wages. I don't think that is the case and to lose doyle's wage but replace it with a couple of lesser players on a little bit less between them seems to make no sense.

what we have to do is shift JOH and RJ and end the sako saga one way or the other. then see where we are at xmas. if we stay in the top two scoring two or three every week, we'll get gates of 20,000 and that extra 5,000 a week fanbase will help subsidise the wages.

I agree to a degree cyp, but we didn't score many the last few years and Doyle's lack of goals did not help that, so as I say, he will rightly get criticism for his very poor goalscoring record.

I do agree he is a good player though and would rather him than waghorn that's for sure.

Do we really need another striker? Too much like Nugent for me - will either of those be happy to sit on the bench?

Doyler spends 80 minutes of actual game time sitting on his backside, so that shouldn't be a problem

A slight exaggeration, but despite being a consummate professional and a very intelligent player, I have never in my 42 years of watching football seen anybody fall over so much.

Stan Cullis?

There's a Wolves fan down the road to me. He told me about how the opposition arriving at Molineux would come from wherever and it was a bone dry day yet the pitch at Wolverhampton was flooded. Stan's work.

Yes. Took over a threadbare, struggling side, won the Championship, and gave us three years in the Premiership, which could have been more had he not been unceremoniously kicked out in February, well before the season was over. Definitely "ruined" the club.

Still, we weren't careful what we wished for, suffered the consequences of successive relegations, and are now starting the long journey back to where we were before he even became manager...

Always thought Doyle was a decent striker myself. Not necessarily prolific and subject to bouts of form, but still decent. If it's Doyle for Waghorn then it's a no-brainer for me.

Bute, do you type this stuff out each time you post it or just copy and paste?

If not necessarily prolific equates to one goal every ten games, then he will be just what you are looking for.

At least he has a striker's name. Kevin Doyle really does sound like an archetypal comic strip traditional no9 who is ever the hero with his magic boots and perfect smile.

Martyn Waghorn, on the other hand, sounds like an extra in some dodgy pørn flick.
